Recs!!

Here are some recs from rs_games.
Basically I want to rec almost everything, but there would hardly be any point to such a post. So with no further ado, here are my favorites so far. (Though I might skip a few that's already been recced a lot.)

I'll be adding to this list as new favorites emerge.

A World Gone Mad. Fic.
Team: Magic
Title: A World Gone Mad
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: wanking, frotting, brief oral, some foul language because well, they’re teenage boys.
Word Count: 18,404
Summary: The realization that he may have not so platonic feelings for Remus lead Sirius to some realizations about himself and his family, and maybe, to start healing.
Notes: Without the wonderful beta job by M and some serious hand holding by C to get me through the first few sections this probably wouldn’t have happened. So thank you! Also, title shamelessly stolen from Ave Mary A by Pink, because really, who does know when to get out of a world gone mad.
Prompt: 51 - We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”
~ from "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" by Tom Stoppard
I loved this because: Super sweet and clever Marauder story and getting together story. Touching and well-written.

Stay (please). Art.
Team: Team Muggle
Title: Stay (please)
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: One-sided love, prostitution, nudity, sex, hits of BDSM, smoking, angst, and bad handwriting. I think that's all.
Summary: He really should have known better than to fall in love with a prostitute. But as long as it feels real...
Notes: The next time I say I'm going to do a heavily smut-based comic, please stop me.
Prompt: 62 - “She said she knew she was able to fly because when she came down she always had dust on her fingers from touching the light bulbs.”
~ from "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger
I loved this because: The artist has an incredibly personal style that I love. And this comic is so so so sad.

Let's Be Alone Together. Fic.
Team: Muggle
Title: Let's Be Alone Together
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none
Word Count: ~ 1500
Summary: Sirius was the kind of person Remus could read like an open book, and the story he read there was beautiful. But finding the true meaning of it, wasn't always easy.
Notes: Thank you dear B for the beta, and thank you lovely mods for all your work and for being so friendly and helpful!
Prompt: 37 - black and white photo of a man wearing a hat, head bowed, holding a bright red apple in his hand
I loved this because: This is sweet with a very precise, well chosen language and imagery. It evokes vivid images with few measures. The characters are so Them.

The Psychopomp. Art.
Team: Muggle
Title: The Psychopomp
Rating: G
Warnings: N/A
Word Count: 60
Summary: The world collapses. You hold it in.
Notes: Oh man, I was wondering what to do about the theme and settled for the most obvious choice. Comics are already a visual medium, of course, but there's a whole lot of things you can do with it, too.
Thanks so much to the mods for bringing us the Games this year! And the Agents, for everything.
Prompt: #54 - "The smell and taste of things remain poised a long time, like souls, ready to remind us…"
~ Proust
I loved this because: I can't remember the last time I saw something this beautiful. Everything about it is perfect!

The Wish To Move Backward. Fic.
Team: Team Magic
Title: The Wish to Move Backward
Rating: PG
Warnings: Canonical Character Death
Word Count: 3166
Summary: Remus in the immediate aftermath of Voldemort’s defeat
Notes: I must thank my Team Captains, who constitute the major reasons for my trying my hand at this again, and my betas b-m and a-c, who cheered and counselled throughout. ♥ The title is from Louise Gluck’s ‘A Fantasy’.
I loved this because: Remus is in France, having just learned about the Potters' Death. But he still doesn't know what's happened with Sirius. Need I say more? Sad and sweet and well-written.

More Recs!!

Close Your Eyes And Let The Music Set You Free. Art.
Team: Magic
Title: Close Your Eyes and Let the Music Set You Free
Rating: R
Warnings: almost naked Remus with scars
Summary: Remus hated his scars. Sirius didn't stop to breathe until he found a way to help.
Notes: Title (c) Phantom of the Opera. This work... *sigh* the second I saw the theme and the prompt, I knew I wanted to make it very sensual, but as it often times happens with first ideas - I reworked the whole piece many times over. And what an adventure that was. S, thank you to the Mods and all my Teammates, the Games are perfect.
Prompt: 32 - Close-up picture of a person's hands
I loved this because: Amazing, gorgeous, beautiful art that evokes so many emotions!

No Subtitles Available. Fic.
Team: Muggle
Title: No Subtitles Available
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: Mentions of homophobia, a tiny bit of very slight cross-dressing, implied sex
Word Count: 12,000
Summary: Potter and Black have always been arrogant and selfish as far as Remus can tell. Having their own, very successful radio show, probably hasn't changed that one bit. But when fate, or more precisely Frank Longbottom, steps in, and Remus finds himself working with Potter and Black, he might have to consider that there's more to them than he's been giving them credit for.
Notes: Thank you so much to B for reading this and giving me your fabulous comments, and thank you so much to S for the great beta work! An enormous hug goes to all of the mods for organizing RS_Games, giving us the opportunity to enjoy and love this wonderful pairing in all its variety ♥
Prompt: 67 - "Lying in bed with the radio on
Moonlight falls like rain
Soft summer nights spent thinking of you
When will I see you again

Soft and low the music moans
I can't stop thinking about you
Thinking about you"
~ from "Nights Are Forever Without You" by England Dan & John Ford Coley
I loved this because: This creative AU is so well written and lovely. It shows us little moments in the characters' lives, and together the moments create fleshed out and wonderful characters. Remus is fabulous, but I especially love Sirius and the many sides of him we get to see. Loved it.

Or, a Portait of the Mathematician As a Young Man Fic and art.
Team: Muggle
Title: Or, a Portrait of the Mathematician as a Young Man
Rating: PG
Word Count: 12,000
Summary: Historical AU. The First War was already a memory. The Second War was the shadow growing on the horizon. Remus J. Lupin, a mathematics scholar at King’s College, Cambridge, had fallen in with a set of friends who called themselves The Marauders-and at its masthead the dissolute aristocratic heir, Lord Sirius Black.
Note: Contains images. Thanks to S for lovely beta!
Prompt: #51 - We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”
~ from "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" by Tom Stoppard
I loved this because: This is beautiful, original and clever. Gorgeous piece.
