Soooo... Rory Help + Harry Potter Dolls?

Welp, it's the end of Saturday and I had a nice relaxing day off. Nothing major happened, which was nice. I did some cleaning and some organizing, shipped out some orders, and had some time to draw. I've got two things to share, and one I'd love some input on:

Now, I have drawn this guy five different times today, and I don't know if it's just an off day, or what, but I CAN NOT DRAW RORY! Each one has... parts right, but nothing really looks like him. If anyone has any insight they want to share, go for it. Some things I think can be fixed in shading, but man is that guy giving me trouble! -fistshake- Also, I know he has tiny eyes  but the paper dolls on the whole have larger eyes as an illustrative style, and I loathe people who cry 'style' over things, but I don't want him to look out of sorts compared to the others by having smaller eyes, if that makes sense.

Second sharing bit is a sketch that I'm currently turning into an illustration is here:

And you know, I think it's kind of funny that my sketches are always so nondescript. It's very rare for me to do a detailed sketch, and most are just kind of these general, vague lines for myself like 'yeah I get the gist of it, on to the final show!'. Which is odd because I really, really adore people's detailed sketches. When I've gone to cons (rarely, but I've managed to make it to a few) 9 times out of 10 I'll buy a sketchbook rather than a poster or a finished piece of art, because I just love detailed sketches. I froth at the mouth over value sketches, or things with hatching and shading or chisel tip pencil drawings, yet I seem to lack the patience or...  even capability of doing the kinds of sketches that I really admire. But I think all artists admire what they can't do, or doesn't come naturally to them...

In other news, I'm kicking around the idea of doing a set of Harry Potter dolls for the season premiere of the last movie. I won't be seeing it for a few reasons (-coughdeathcough-) but I remember when the books came out, and boy I read those things like there was no tomorrow. I even remember when I first got the 6th book, I had been invited over to a LAN party at my friend David's house and I set up the book right by my computer and played Warcraft 3 and Halo all night while reading Harry Potter, because I just couldn't put that shit down! I've enjoyed the movies too, and my little sister Brenna is a big fan, she's pretty psyched to see the last movie when it comes out next week.

So, any interest, yay or nay? It'd be a lot of work to do three dolls, I'm thinking Harry, Hermione and Ron of course, though it is SO tempting to do a Snape because he's my favorite character... I mean, I could do a lot of them really, there's so many awesome characters. Augh, so much to do so little time off work!
