January - Start of the New Year! And the real countdown to the wedding begins… My only New Year resolution is to lose weight and get healthier.

February - 2 years engaged! We also start the house hunting.

March - Derek I bought a house. Ah the joys of homeownership… as we would soon find out.

We also got to meet Sara and Jake in person for the first time despite talking to them online for months.

April - We moved into our new house, and then later on in the month we had our first party in the house for Derek’s birthday and housewarming. Also found out that our AC didn’t work, which was soon to be followed by repeated denials of our claim to the home warranty company to get it fixed.

May - Jackie gets married and for the first time I am a bridesmaid! Her entire wedding planning showed me a lot about myself, like my expectations and wants in different situations.

I also get my first ever surprise birthday party, but the surprise was ruined because one of the people invited told me she wouldn’t be able to make it to my birthday party. I still appreciate the sentiment and have some of the greatest friends.

June - Kentucky Renfaire! We got to meet Spaz/Josh for the first time. I’m glad we did. And we got to hang out with Whitney a lot even though she was on cast.

July - Finally got the AC replaced. Thank Goddess for a mild summer. Also, Lee moved in with us. It has been great having him live here. Some friends have said they noticed we seemed in an all around better mood after he moved in. I also have come to realize that I do prefer being a in a house with more than just us. Going from a house bursting with 6 adults to just us was a big change for me. I missed the hustle and bustle. Adding Lee to the family helped ease that a bit. We also had our second party at the house.

August - My favorite memory from this month would have to be the day of my sister’s birthday. The three of us went over my parents’ house for Angie’s birthday dinner. Lee brought his son Marcus because he was taking care of him for the first two weeks of the month. I had brought Marcus over to their house the week before when I watched him so Lee could work, so they had met him already. My mom actually squeed when she saw Lee had brought Marcus. It was just so funny because I don’t think I had ever seen her do that before.

September - Selina and I really started hanging out together a lot about this time outside of the pirate shop. Also, Ohio Renfaire! All the dresses and outfits are done for the wedding and they looked great.

My favorite memory of September would be one of the first few times Selina was over. She was still in her Red Lobster uniform and we were sitting on the couch just chatting away. Lee was at work and Derek was at school. Lee had just gotten home and we talked a bit about how work was. As he was going back to his room he stopped and introduced himself to my guest. She pulled her hair back to put it up in a ponytail and he looked at her and asked “Selina?” He hadn’t recognized her out of garb. We laughed, mostly because this seems to be a common occurrence among rennies.

October - I got married! Derek and I went horseback riding for the first time on our honeymoon and he even went down into the caves with me. I love my husband J Also included in this month was a whole lot of drama (not between me and Derek). One drama can be titled Love is Blind. And the other one is because a guy we thought was a friend was upset because we didn’t invite him to our wedding, though we didn’t know him that well and were on a budget.

November - Drama still continues…. Also, Selina returns from TXRF a month early and stays with us. Later on in the month she officially moves in with us. Yay!! And…we needed to replace 30ft of pipe in our front yard. Not fun or cheap. Derek and I also got to go to our first Castleers event at Loveland Castle. It was a lot of fun and we can’t wait for the next one! We also got to put up and decorate our first Christmas tree in the house. We set it up on the chest from the wedding so it can be seen out of the window.

December - Had my first trip to the ER in awhile because I passed out and then collapsed a bit later. Turns out I had a really bad case of the 24hr flu. Where most people throw up, I pass out.

Also, we had our first Christmas in the house. It went less than ideal. With Derek spending most of the day sick and my mom avoiding me so she doesn’t get sick even though I was better, it was a terrible day for me. Derek got me the claddagh poison ring I wanted, though 2 sizes too big. Derek loves the walking stick I bought for him. Selina got me a new belly dance hip scarf, Lee got me Wicked and Son of a Witch to read. I also ended up with a lot of movies and CDs this year. I now have the show Roar starring Heath Ledger. I can’t wait to sit down and watch it.

New Years Eve was good and it wasn’t. It was good because of the friends that came and we had a great time. It wasn’t because so few came when we invited so many. Though it was the quality of the people that showed up rather than the quantity.

Hopefully this year will be better than the last.
