Art Fair

Sunday my mother and I went to an art fair. We went last year, too, and I also liked it then:-) I am so impressed by some of the artists that were there. I have whole new ideas of subject matter and techniques (unfortunately far more of them work with oil than acrylics and various other medium I don't work with -- such as smashed up pieces of mica -- so it's not like I could get things really exact, but there are still a lot of things I want to try just with my acrylics!) There was a beautiful dress with an empire waist that I really wanted, and it was marked as Extra Small but it was really huge:-( Maybe it they made children's-sized dresses I could have bought one:-P There were tons of photographers, which was neat to look at, but I'm never going to be a photographer (I hate dealing with cameras) so my appreciation was much more just aesthetic than technical. I really liked this one Chinese photographer. His photographs were mostly of natural settings of China and a few of old ruins (though also a few of the US which were less interesting to me, though they were nice). Someday I hope to be as good as some of those artists; most were a lot older than me, so I'm hoping practice will help.
