Old Poem (Editing Poems)

I have 873 poems currently in my poetry folder. Here's a short one I thought I'd post. I'm going to write a new one soon.

The Sun and the Stars

Pure snow melts passively.
The fierce sun finally blesses us
With Godly rays of buttercup golde.n
Throw in a rainbow or two
And it will be time to call the Mad Hatter to a tea party.

Late in the indigo night of secrets
Stars sing to me as I pray
And cry over you,
Intestines tied in bows as gift wrapping.
You see the same stars, I fear.
They feed us identical messages.
Self-loathing read in the skies and in our sick stomachs,
Just like fortunetellers reading tea leaves --
To everyone else the signs are lost.

But in our twin sorrows and sobs
We sit naked in cold iron shackles,
Waiting to be carried to a new life of sunshine true.
