I say Baltimore because it's not really greetings from Otakon anymore, that ended on Sunday.
Sooo, rundown of my first con.
Getting here suuuuuuuucked. It took 12 hours on what was supposed to be a 7-hour drive. I blame Duae's dad for that. >| Verbal directions usually always suck.
I cosplayed, lol, and pretty much... well, I saw all of mine and Cat's costumes as shipping ones. From Batman I was Two-Face and
duae was Riddler/Poison Ivy. And from Star Trek I was Captain Kirk and Duae was girl-Spock.
On the Two-Face, though, ffffffffff there was one there that looked like he had BACON on his face. >| And he was carrying a bat. WHAT. I mean, okay, if it was like the
bandage strips that look like bacon? I would have lol'd. But it was just really poor makeup.
He also didn't have a split suit, but neither did another Two-Face from TDK, and since the TDK TF was cool as hell I'm not going to go RAR I HAS TWO-SUIT WTF U GUIEZ over it.
There were two Mad Hatters I found, which was kinda awesome and makes me want to be one next con. So Duae's either going to be a carded Alice or the March Hare (which I think we'd have to design a costume for, did Hatter ever have a buddy he didn't hypnotize into it? Wikipedia says no. :c)
Hatter's a little more relatable to me, lol. I <3 hats. Dunno why. :| Even as Two-Face I had a hat at Otacon.
One more note before I get back to ota-babble: I wish Hatter had one of those villain-oriented books like
Two-Face or
Scarecrow. I'm weird, I don't really like following the entire series, but I like being able to read about the badguys in one sitting. :c
As far as buying things went, I didn't get too much. I bought a Sailor Mars bat, and ordered a Two-Face bat from the people that make them in Artist Alley. So when Duae gets her Riddler bat and I get my Two-Face one they're going to sit in the corner and hump when I'm not chasing her cats around the apartment, flailing them wildly.
I got a t-shirt that says Bones M.D. on it like the House typing. Which just turned into my asking Duae if Doctor of Medicine was a step down from Chief Medical Officer and getting that Bones is probably both so either one is appropriate.
I saw a lot of gijinka Pokemon walking around, so in addition to Mad Hatter I might want to be a Typhlosion some time. That seems like it'd be more comfortable than a lot of them, really. :c I liked my costumes, but suits are HOT, especially because I was standing out in line for three hours in it. With annoying bitches behind me in shorts whining about how hoooot it waaaaas and how uncooomfoooortable they weeeere. >|
And in the line was the first time I saw The Question at the 'con. 8D She was fun. Kinda hoping Duae and I can snag the pictures from the line with her. She has one of the few where I was still wearing the burn-scarring makeup (it reeked so bad, it hurt to peel it off, and once it got cold and dry it curled up, so eventually I just put more effort into painting my face) but I don't think you can see it in the pic she has, lol. Good-side was to the camera, if I remember right.
But yeah, she was awesome. Her and a Robin and a Penguin were basically our buddies for Saturday (at least I think it was Saturday? I suck at remembering days/dates). Got lunch, found Penguin again when he was at another photoshoot, not Penguin anymore, and found Robin and Question again at the doll-meetup.
Uuuuuhh, I think there's supposed to be more but my brain is a sieve like always. I guess if anyone got our pictures, that's be nice to have. c: We were the Two-Face in the black and white suit and hat with Riddler with the giant cane and question mark mask/Poison Ivy in a corset and sandals with ivy leaves on them. And original-uniform Captain Kirk and female Spock.
Oh, and we're going to the aquarium today. c: See all the leetle fishies and the sharks. Yay sharks~
