Erm... I need some help from anyone who may be doing English (whether Single or Joint Honours) at LEEDS UNIVERSITY, please.
Anyone?
In fact, pretty much any Uni will do - I have a few questions about reading lists and modules et cetera. Thanks.

I'm doing English at Exeter. :) What were your questions?

Basically - have you recieved a reading list yet? And if you have, what kind of length is it?
I wanted to do some preparatory reading this year (I'm reapplying to Leeds for English for 2007, after deciding to take a Gap year of sorts) but looking at the reading list online didn't help - I just totally confused myself about the different modules.

I've received my reading list and am slightly daunted by it!

There are ten books on it, which they want me to "familiarize myself with" before I go. At the very least they want me to read Genesis. Other books include The Odyssey, Jane Eyre, Paradise Lost, Richard III and The Tempest. I can email you my full list if you'd like, but TBH I do think that they'll vary between universities. My advice would be to read Genesis and maybe one or two of Shakespeare's tragedies. Or maybe just get in touch with the English department at Leeds. You could also try looking on http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk in the Leeds forum, there may be others there in the same boat as you.

Good luck! :)
