[It's a cold rainy Sunday afternoon and Cesare is not in the posh Edennel apartments he had called home but the aging building he has been working tirelessly at renovating into a proper sort of church. Currently he's standing in the cathedral itself, and his voice echoes in the distinct acoustical way churches have.]

[Well, that certainly took no time at all.]

You've managed to raise the money and get the building nearly completed already? I'm impressed with how quickly you work.

Good afternoon, Naomi.

It is not completed yet, there is still much structural repair and renovation to be complete. However I wanted the interior as operational as could be, as quickly as could be.

I am exacting with my workers and schedule. If I want something done, it is done.

[scientize]

And a good afternoon right back to you, Cesare. It's always a pleasure to speak with you.

[The woman smiles at that. Men who know what they want and how to get it are rather attractive, aren't they?] I'm glad to hear you've managed to find workers who are up to the task of keeping you happy.

[A soft, subtle smirk from the Cardinal.]

Keeping me happy is not an easy task, but the locals here do prove to be useful when motivated enough.

How are you this lovely rainy Sunday?

It's just a little difficult to find that motivation, I remember. There was a little accident in my laboratory last year. A small [not really] fire. It took the workers I hired over a month to finish repairing damage that could easily have been finished in a week if they'd worked hard enough. Needless to say, I wasn't very pleased with them in the end, but I suppose I didn't provide nearly as much inspiration as I should have.

If I ever find myself in that situation again, I might beg of you to give me some tips.

[The background changes quickly, shifting as Naomi sits down comfortably on her favorite living room couch. No reason to not get relaxed when talking to one of her new favorite people.] I've decided to take a much needed day off. So I'm doing very well, thank you. And yourself?

It sounds as if you could use a day off. I hope that you have a nice wine to relax with?

[He looks to the side expression turning displeased as he evidently sees something a worker is doing he disapproves of. A soft sigh and he too begins to walk as he looks back to the Dreamberry.]

I am well considering what all still needs to be done. If you do ever need my skills as an organizational figure I would be happy to motivate anyone you need.

People do find it difficult to say no to me.

I've noticed. [Even Naomi feels she might have trouble saying no to you, Cesare. Just maybe.

As he tuts and frowns at the workers who are not living up to those high expectation he has set, the woman can't help but chuckle softly. It looks like he has enough work to do without her bothering him right now.]

Maybe when things are considerably less busy with your new church you'll have a bit of extra time to spend with me. You still owe me a confession.

[The scenery behind him changes to a darkened hallway and then further into what she could recognize as a reading room. It's considerably more quiet in here, and Cesare sits on the corner of one of the tables.]

I have made time today for just that. I will be here all evening taking confessions or answering questions. You are more than welcome here today, or any other day.

Then maybe, just maybe, I'll surprise you with a visit tonight.

[unholydecree]

[His dark eyes stare at her a second and he takes in a settling breath.]

[A coy wink,] I think I've done just enough to make it interesting.

I doubt you could be anything but interesting.

[With the slight estrangement between her husband and herself recently getting to even worse levels, this is precisely the time that Naomi needs her dear 'friend' the most.]

If you really don't mind, I'll come over soon. I could use some pleasant conversation with you today. Rain or not.

I do not mind at all. I shall try to provide you with excellent conversation, for your braving the rain.

[She'll just catch his smile as he turns off the phone.]

[Though it takes a few hours for her to finally arrive, Naomi does show up at the church just as promised before the day is done, bundled up in a heavy jacket and with a small paper bag in hand.

Even without knowing much about important religious buildings like these, she can easily guess that shouting out for him would be rude. So she will just be sticking to the man entryway, calling softly in hopes of attracting someone's attention.]

Anyone home?

[By this time the work crew has gone home for the day. Cesare has been spending his time in the small library, trying to decide how he wants to organize it. He really wishes he had some more servants around here to do this kind of thing, but he was a little bored anyway. When he hears the doors creak open he walks slowly to the door way and moves down the hallway, and by the time she calls out he is just entering the cathedral.

He grins to himself but smooths it out to a benign smile as he rounds a column slowly and stops. Cesare folds his hands together and bows his head to her.]
