I haven't updated in forever. I decided now would be a good time to do the Wicked entry, although the trip was on the eleventh.
Wicked was...so amazingly awesome. I was ecstatic the entire time we were there and when the show actually started I had to try really hard not to jump out of my seat and start screaming with excitement. It wasn't the original Broadway cast, but after watching the Broadway cast (ask me about it when you see me), with the exception of Galinda's voice I like the cast we saw better. They added some things to the show that just made it great.
Galinda was so dumb it was adorable, very much like shipou. That sounds kinda mean, but he makes the same comment right back at me so he can just deal with it. XD
"Defying Gravity", the act I finale sent shivers down my spine. There's just something wonderful about seeing someone rise about 20 feet in the air and then belt out the final verse of a defiant and rebellious song.
Angel_of_Olore said that she enjoyed it more than Phantom and Rent on stage. I definitely liked it more than Hairspray. We saw that when the Chorus went to new York and it was honestly a good musical, just...nowhere NEAR as good as Wicked
I'm singing "Defying Gravity" for both my Drama final and for my audition for Once Upon a Mattress. I hope I get a part. I've had one lesson working on it with Mrs. Bean and it was very encouraging. She said I didn't really have anything that I needed to work on that much, and that makes me happy.
If any of you ever have an opportunity to go see Wicked, then do so. You won't regret it, like, ever. It is such a touching and inspiring musical. Had I not already known some secrets from reading the behind-the-scenes book, The Grimmerie, I would definitely have been brought to tears.
Also, should I get my hair cut? I was thinking about having it cut short(er) because it is easier to make behave, on the other hand I like my long hair and might miss it. Tell me whether you think I should or should not have my hair cut and why. I'm not sure when I'll do it if I have it cut anyways, so it'll be a while before I do anything. *shrug* well, I'm kinda sleepy and need to make a phone call and finish my homework. Laters!
