Destiny, Destiny, no escape is there for me.

Apparently I have two separate opinions about me running through the advertising school here at UT.

1. I'm a pretentious asshole.

and (more surprisingly to me)

2. I'm a creative all-star.

Um...ok.

The first one I heard of for the first time this summer from a group-mate for Campaigns class. She told me that I had a "reputation" for being a particularly smarmy, pretentious asshole.

Alright. So I talk in class. I gave a talk on Chaos Conference the day we turned in our Media projects, when NO ONE wanted to be in class (and for that, I do sincerely apologize...I didn't want to be there either). I'm sure there's a bunch of other things that have given me this reputation as well, but luckily, when people actually talk to me they realize that I'm kind of cool. Kelly, my group-mate from the summer, has been converted from her old beliefs into the newer, Zach is a cool-guy mindset.

As for the other reputation: I learned about this one last night. Apparently there are some girls in P3 (ok, so it's not throughout the ad department, but I'm still a bit shocked that ANYONE thinks this) who think I'm the bomb-diggity. Christy Jo, my second partner, was talking to some of her friends from P3 and told them that I had contacted her in hopes of working with her. Both of the girls she was with stared at her in disbelief.

This is her account, not mine.

"Zach Vernon wants to work with you? Man, you're set."

...

Wha?

So, um, yay? That's pretty cool, IMHO. I don't really know why I'm telling all of you this, I guess it's just more of a matter of record for myself so that I can come back some day and look at this when I'm feeling particularly dumb and unoriginal.

So, tomorrow.

But um, yeah. So I'm a pretentious asshole who happens to be amazing at what he does.

I can live with that, I think.
