Well, lovely. Everyone he'd rather avoid is here, and those he actually likes (all...two of them) were here, but are now gone. And this place is a bloody mess. So Kay is now looking for whoever is in charge to give them a piece of his mind.

Oh come now. SOMEONE must be in charge. Surely.

He's not in charge, but he'd sure like to find whoever is. The plothole is not giving him cigarettes any longer, and he has no idea how to find food--and he's a bit too proud to take charity from the fairy Roman git. John is on edge, and he'll bite off a terse "Out of my way, duck" as he passes.

"And why should I," he snaps back without thinking. Frankly, this is the kind of outburst almost everyone ignores from him at home, by now, and he barely thinks twice about it.

Oooh, look, someone to take out this aggression on! "Because if you hadn't noticed, I'm starving, and I'm beginning to wonder whether I'm above putting you on the menu."

"Like to see you try it." Kay could use a good fight himself.

Drawling, "How very civilized."

[unhappysteward]

"You're he one talking about carving me up like a stag." His hand rests lightly on the hilt of his sword.

"With my teeth, I imagine, since you're the one with a carving knife strapped to you."

"Teeth might be easier than a longsword, for cleaning game. I can see why you're starving."

"I'm a composer, duck, not a huntsman. All I know about Davy Crockett is the theme song."

True to form, Kay ignores the comment he doesn't understand. "At least Dinadan knows which end of a blade to hold."

Recognizing the reference, "So you're one of King Arthur's knights--how quaint. Which are you? Clearly not Galahad--"

He snorts. "And I thank the Lord for that every morning. I'm Sir Kay." This said as if John daring to make something of it.

"Kay. Do you know, I can absolutely see that."

[unhappysteward]

He scowls. "Well, now that you've threatened me, gathered my name without returning me your own, and generally made yourself a nuisance, shall I leave you to your starving?"

[john_ofdarkness]

"My name is John Jeckyll, and you may feel free to leave me to my starving." He gives a one-fingered salute, and goes to walk away.

"Jekyll," he calls after him, after a moment, "Would you know how to cook, if there was food to cook?"
