I'm kind of over Supernatural. I think it's been a long time coming for me. For the past few years, if you asked me what my favourite [currently airing] TV show was, I would have said that it was Supernatural, hands down. But I don't feel that way anymore. Not even close

When the angels were introduced is when I think the show jumped the shark... for me anyways. Season 4 and this season so far I find too serious. They try to add in funny things but it's just not the same. I get that they have a plot line and story but I would rather just a bunch of seasons like seasons 1,2 and 3. I also hate how crazy shit has gotten. I know it sounds weird and silly but angels, the devil and God?? I know that all the other supernatural creatures they hunted were crazy and far fetched as well but for me it's kind of stepped over the line from paranormal to preachy batshit crazy (no offence to any religion fans).
Supernatural was bound to jump the shark eventually and we should just feel lucky that we got as much of the good stuff as we did!
Concerning Dean's harshness in this episode..I think he's in a funk. Although he angered me when he said those things (and I kind of wanted to punch him) I think it's denial, he's just lying to himself that he's okay without Sam. His face looked so frustrated and hurt at certain points in the past couple of episodes. I think he's having just as hard of a time as we are with how serious it's all become and nostalgia. ;) Well at least he better be, because if he was being honest than he...well I could go on ranting about that for a long time...lol.
^ see? what's up with all the drama! Instead of things like this we should be giggling, swooning and feeling their compassion and love for hunting/saving people and their father. Oh and can't forget yelling things like "wooah cool!" at the supernatural creatures 'n' things.
I think my point is that in my opinion it's turned into a very depressing, unrealistic, dramatic show that never really touches me the same way it used it. Dean pretty much sealed the deal when he told Sam that things will never be the same.
There's definitely more I could go on about but I'll leave it at that :)
It's funny that you should post about this tonight because although I have had these feelings for probably as long as you have I actually decided during tonight's episode that I am going to watch the first couple of seasons again to remember the good ol' days. We must appease our nostalgia!!! :D
Was that too long? Sorry! It's late and I was trying to make sense instead of rampaging in CAPS lock.
