YES, FUCK YES
Guess what guys?! I HAVE TICKETS TO SEE NO DOUBT IN JUNE. I'm sure a couple of you can imagine how absolutely THRILLED I am right now.
You see, my love affair with this band started in grade 6, when my parents were a member of that Columbia House junk where you got CD's and VHS tapes. The first CD I ever owned, and got from them, was Tragic Kingdom. I must have listened to it a million bajillion times.
Being that I was young, I never really "kept up" with their career, so I didn't get Return of Saturn until it had been out for like a year. I paid a lot of money for it, I remember that, as CD's were still expensive then. And I got Rock Steady the day it came out and laid on my bed all day with the lyrics in hand and listened to it about 50 times on repeat.
When they toured for Rock Steady, I wasn't old enough/didn't have the means to go and see them live. And then when they did that summer tour for The Singles with Blink-182, they didn't come to Canada. I kept hoping and praying that they would tour for their new album, but then I discovered that they were touring BEFORE the album.
Anyway, long story short, I managed to convince my mom to buy me tickets to their Toronto show for my birthday. I used her credit card to get them at the Tour Club presale today, and wound up with 4th row floor seats!!!!!!! I am so beyond excited and happy about this, you don't even know.
And to finish this post off, this is my favourite No Doubt song and video, and possibly my favourite song of all time.
Best part of this tour: it's likely they'll play mostly old stuff, as apparently they don't have a lot of new material written yet. AMAZING.
