Guys, this totally deserves its own post.
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT JASON BATEMAN PLAYED JAMES ON LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE?
(This startling revelation came from
laurav2, who is reading a magazine at work about child stars and called to tell me this.)
You have to know about me and Little House on the Prairie to understand what this revelation means to me. You see, it was, like, my favourite show for a period of about 5 years. It started in and around grade 7 or 8, and ended when I was in high school. The only reason it ended was because the station it aired on every day (I think it was TBS) stopped showing it. I would look forward to coming home and watching it after school. And my dad loved it, too. We'd watch it together whenever I was home sick.
It.. wasn't a good show. But it was soapy and dreamy and had awesome storylines (like that time that Albert was addicted to morphine and he went through withdrawl after quitting it or when the circus came to town and Mr. Oleson was all ashamed because his fat sister was the Fat Lady and he didn't want anyone to know). It was kinda like a pre-90210 90210 except with the prairies instead of Beverly Hills.
And I so totally remember James' storyline/episodes - when his parents died in what I seem to remember was a wagon accident (it was, I looked it up) and the Ingalls took in James and his sister Cassandra, because Charles couldn't bear to send them to an orphanage.
I so remember James being whiny and annoying.. except he was JASON BATEMAN, guys. He was so little! (He was 12, but looked about 10.)
I even found a clip!
