Conference about weird things from centuries ago and writing

I went to a very interesting conference today! :3 I learned that, before the 19th century, people actually believed that there was only one sex, which was perfect (the male sex, of course). So men were perfect and had their organs in the outside, while us women were imperfect because our penis was inside us. What?! Yeah. And there were also 'levels' of perfection, so you could evolve from being a girly girlish girl to be as swift as the coursing river, and with all the force of a great typhoon! Oh yes, it was actually a motive of celebration if a woman suddenly said she had grown a penis and was now to be treated and behave as a man. :3

That is of course, for the Western world, and especially Europe. And I'm just being very general, I'm sure the whole thing is way more complicated than I'm saying, but that's what I caught. :P But it's interesting, uh? Reminded me of my psychoanalysis classes. Things haven't changed much in some senses. Dx

Now, changing the subject.

I have this... itching feeling. I wanna write fics non-stop, and while I do get tons of ideas, most of them are very silly. I'm giving up on my female!Watson fic, basically because the guy who was supposed to help me sort it out and I are no longer talking. We didn't fight or anything, we're just not talking. XD "So, talk to him," you'd said, but for some reason, I'd rather not to, for now.

I'm not giving up on other plot bunnies, but... gosh, I keep second-guessing myself. And writing them in Spanish is a big no, I can't even think of how the characters would sound in Spanish, and all the fics I've read are in English. :/ Ah, I wish I could go back to when I was 13 and had lots of fun writing whatever the hell I wanted without caring much for its quality. xD
