6 months of life and the days leading up to now.

Oliver will be 6 months old tomorrow. I had always said before we ever got pregnant that I would write EVERYTHING down through out my pregnancy and once he was born... I even said I would eat a lot of blue berries while pregnant because it was good for the baby's brain... I can't understand why even in something so important as remembering what I went through to the development of my child I didn't do either of those things. Every day my goal is to do better as a Mother and give him my all.
My pregnancy went very well, I'd have to say. I never had morning sickness but did have a lot of back aches. I feared I would gain an unacceptable amount of weight. Though I was trying to lose weight when we got pregnant, I was at my highest, 200. I only gained about 28 lbs through the whole pregnancy and most was water weight because 3 weeks after I had him I was back down to 200 pounds.
We found out on June 20,2012 that we were having a boy. My Mother came with us, and with this being the first sonogram she had ever seen, I was even more excited. My parents apparently were hoping for a girl. And despite wanting a girl, I have known for a long time that my first child would be a boy. My Husband had a family name to carry on and I always wanted a daughter to have an older brother. I just knew.
The third name of the four in the family name is always different. We threw around names but I didn't feel any of them were right. While on a family trip to Wyoming with my parents I woke up from a day dream and said if we were having a boy, his name would be Oliver. And so it was...
On October 17 we went for what was to be the last sonogram before my due date (Oct. 23). The two ladies doing the sonogram were having a hard time finding one of the 8 things that they needed... they sent us out to the waiting room and then told us we needed to go see our Dr. the next morning to get approved to do another sonogram... basically something was wrong and instead of just taking another 10 minutes (and breaking a few rules) to find what they needed, they sent us home. We were worried. We had to go home and meditate on the idea that something could be seriously wrong. It was the most stressful night of my life, up to that day. The next day we go to our Dr. I get checked for dilation, and put on a monitor. At some point blood was taken and we later discovered my kidneys weren't working properly. They sent me next door to the hospital to "continue to be monitored" and possibly induced. (Mind you, we were going to go to the sonogram and go out for a big breakfast afterwards... so I hadn't eaten since Wednesday night...) We weren't ready to go to the hospital! We didn't have our overnight bags and they weren't completely packed either. We called my Mom, said we were being induced...
