A lot of things have happened. The only thing to note would be the flood, which is what caused the current damage to Somarium.

They're not. They disappeared during the flood. [he's going to have to explain that a bit, huh.]

First there had been a strange, heavy black rain that started on Friday. The black one in particular behaved rather strangely during this time. The water then rose up to eight stories on Saturday and remained until that following Wednesday. The water broke through the barrier and emptied out into the sinkhole, where a large whirlpool now exists.
