"Henry Will Make Suju Last Forever"
"We hope an addition of a new member would contribute to the group's eternity."
- Recently many fans has been protesting against the 14 member group.
▶ Leeteuk: Super Junior is a stepping stone of Asia's Superstar. Our company did not just make the decisions on their own. They have asked us for our opinions regarding the new member. We have thought about it for a while and didn't want this group to last for only a while, but forever. For example, previous idol groups did not disband. Instead, they found new members to fill the empty spots. I hope this can make the group last forever.
- This might sound exaggerated, but wouldn't that mean that the members would increase to 20, 30 people?
▶ Leeteuk: I used to not believe in "forever". Popularity is like the rice in rice wine, not knowing when it'll reach the peak or bottom. Super Junior's popularity will someday have a down fall. If Super Junior can go through new challanges that will be accepted and make us last forever, then the challenge is worth it. We can add an infinite amount of members.
- But is there a baseline number of members?
▶ Eunhyuk: When we released our U single, Kyuhyun had been added. Many people objected to that at that time, but now many people like him. The addition of Henry will show everybody that Super Junior is able to handle growth.
Leeteuk: A lot of people are upset and are criticizing Henry, but please understand that this is for us to develop better. We hope that Super Junior will be a favorite group among parents and childrens.
