Unlikely Sources

Well there have been a few things that have happened since. Naturally i have personal criticisms and opinions of them. How about i save those for last? First? The tri-force.

I'll start with the Gym. I haven't been going. Actually i have. But this past friday marks the 3rd friday in a row where my body has just gone ka-put on me. Like, it's not a matter of just pushing through, but it's that physically i'm exhuasted. So for the third week in a row now it's been only 3 times a week. One thing i have noticed, even tho my weeks are skewed when i do go to the gym, the 4/5 days i have off in between i'm eating normal (In relation that i have 2 1/2 to 3 meals a day) and still maintaining overall weight. That and i perceive myself less of a fatass inbetween. This might be signs of my fitness disorder wearing off. THEN leaving it to watching E!HD: 25 sexiest celeb beach bodies to sqaush any and all remaining normal view of my residual self image.

School... well i made baby steps. I started reading one of the books for Asian Traditions. And now that i think about it there it another reading assignment that i have to do fo Social Theory. I'm soo close to participating in either of those classes... actually, i'm soo close to participating in Social theory but then Roberts will ask a question and the person who answers will respond in a manner that i didn't think was appropriate to respond with but is completely okay! It's actually quite annoying.

Work. Lately has been juicy. A recent scandal left animated manager Aaron H. on a one week suspension. Then after various leaks through the grape vine the truth unfolded. So i guess 3 time ex-manager Pedro (yeah, the one VERY FEW people liked at SRC) was using a bit of computer access from Aaron--which is totally believable since Aaron is the type of person to be so lenient with his access--to "fix" his swipes as he left home early without using any of his time since he's fulltime. Needless to say Pedro got the boot. That bit of news seems irrelevant now that he's been out of shipwreck for a while now. I see it Karma. I don't want to sound mean but i KNEW something was bound to catch up to him, and it finally did. I, for one, am happy that he's gone. And i'm sure that if probed around there would be a small club that would agree with me.

Now the two things that have happened lately... One, Christian came back into town for his Birthday. Two, a relative from Atlanta (yeah Georgia) came in for a few days.

The Christian thing was like old times. We grubbed out at Lolita's and then at Beyer Deli. Then i had a few drinks with him and a few of his fam while watching UFC. Nothing has really changed with that dood. It gives me a bit of a warm, no-homo feeling knowing that i'm one of his better friends that he's able to call on when he's in town, and that potentially one day he'll be able to return the favor.

Now this relative from Georgia is a whole 'nother story. Yeah, i didn't know filipinos lived in Georgia. That seems like an unlikely place IMO to live--from a filipino standpoint--not that it's not possible. But yeah, my impression of this Judi Ann wasn't a very bright one. Now that i think about it she actually reminds me of mom. Mom wasn't too keen of other filipinos, and to this Judi Ann, aside from my dad and Dor, it seemed that me and Shaun were just "other filipinos". She didn't make too much of an effort to come out and talk to us. I'll give her the benefit tho that that wasn't the intent of her trip. She was only in two for two days for a job interview and if i was on a business trip i would spare very little time for too much else. I did come downstairs just to show my face and see what's up but even then i didn't get too many questions.

I dunno, Physically she seemed like she was around my age. Mid twenties. (I keep reminding myself that i'm 24) But that, in conjuction of the asian rule, i wouldn't be too surprised if she was pushin' 30. From what i did perceive from her she was either married or engauged and had kids. She kept talking about "Scottie" who sounded like he was jewish? Middle eastern? Yeah. Then, the real kicker was when i mentioned that hey, while your in San Diego, you've got to try Mexican food! And do you KNOW what her response was after i made that comment?... Nothing. Matter of fact i got a scowl from her. A fucking scowl. Who in the right mind scowls at the thought of mexican food??

Okay okay. Obviously i needed to take a step back and think. Hey, you've got a filipino from the Philippines living in Georgia. What possibly could be her perception of Mexicans or Mexican food? I mean, i'm going to admitt. There are some things that i am VERY prejudice about. I'm convinced that ATLEAST 80% of the mexicans around here are the worst drivers. That and a percentage slightly lower than that falls into the "Obesity in American" category, but despite that I still think that Hispanic Women (Mexican among the top) are just about the most beautiful women around, and their cuisine is outstanding!

Needless to say my first impression of this relatively from Georgia wasn't a very good one. She's gone now, done with her job interview, and frankly i'm kinda glad. In a traditional filipino family you receive a hug which i did NOT receive. Therefore should we ever meet again she will get was a mere stranger would receive from me. A Nod. And be on your way.

Try not to be fooled. I'm not in a bad mood. The complete opposite. I'm actually kind of excited to head to work because a little bird hinted to me that she stalks me and she called a bluff that she was one of my favorites and she was right. What better time for Shipwreck's Mama Dukes to refresh us on the handfree rule.
