I start to believe that holidays were created to make people who are away from home be dying to see their friends and families.. That's now flying companies make their profit - they create high seasons. And that's exactly when you CAN and WANT to go HOME! go travelling :) You buy souvenirs and presents, you wanna share your emotions and warmth with those the closest and the dearest..
Ant then comes the truth of life.. or one may call it a sign :)
First there was the volcano in Iceland..
then it was AirFrance saying they don't want to be blocked in the foreign city for their Christmas Eve (yeah, that couple of French doesn't really care about a full plane of people who want to be back home for .. bingo - for Christmas.. Or simply be back home as in my case... ). Here starts my understanding of why French people hate French Airlines.
But this time, I thought I was totally secured: I chose the most reliable airlines, I picked the date, I checked all the weather forecasts... But I hadn't taken into consideration one little detail - I'm in France, and people who live here - they are French indeed. And there is one thing that the French definitely don't like doing - working :)
So could you imagine that? I'm buying some pain au lait for that wonderful person back there in Ukraine who likes it for breakfast. Some cheese for my mom who adores it..And having left the department store, I got a message saying "we apologise that your flight has been cancelled.." ..
I couldn't believe that!! Joke? I mean.. it's been third time I'm planning to go home, and..
And here come the French
"An unscheduled and unheralded strike has been announced by the Lufthansa ground staff at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for Tuesday, 18th January and most probably for Wednesday, 19th January. This strike affects air traffic to and from Paris. Therefore, Lufthansa has cancelled several flights."
Miss you..
