wow its so cool to find out more about them! I would love to see the real books. One night a long time ago, when I was feeling sad or tired or something, I said "tell me a story" the way I do to a lover time to time, and he started telling me this wild, crazy story. WOW. like the story of stories. He remembers all their names, the intracacities of it, he has a very good memmory like that, and can tell me the stories. It was so wild, I thought he was making it up off the top of his head - he said, no this is a real story. He loved them as a kid. His best teacher, the best nun at his catholic school, the one who saw the "spark" in him, gave him the books when he was a little boy.

he's lost them since, his sister borrowed a book, then he gave some to his sons and they don't know where they are. When I told him about the theme park we laughed and laughed. he wanted to know if the writer is a female or a male. it was cool to look it up online and tell him. I feel like we span the generations. he doesn't go online but listens to the radio, goes to the library, listens to things and actually contains lots of info inside his head. he's 63 so he was reading these stories in the 1950s.

I never heard of them before, I love them!

We have them at the store. They're re-releasing them in collected volumes.
