I realized today that I hadn't given this the proper appreciation it deserved. I basically suck as a friend and as a last-minute beta, y/y?

It’s better this way, Finn tells himself. To have a mom and a Randy and a house where everyone is singing and dancing and laughing, and the urn is kept in coat closet.

This was heartbreakingly tragic. I loved, loved, loved your Finn in this. For all that he's not the sharpest crayon in the box, I really think that he does a lot of thinking in his own, simple way. His love for his mother and the way that her heartbreak was so closely tied to his just... broke my heart. You did such a beautiful thing with his character and this part of his life in so few words. Your writing is ridiculous. You don't waste a single phrase.

They’re in the middle of nowhere, sitting on the bed of Puck’s truck drinking warm beer and debating whether Quinn Fabray would rather give it up to Superman or Batman.

AND

“You’ll forget by the time you finish that beer.”

“Shut up, I won’t.”

Ohhhhhh, my darlingest F&P. They are such boys, as Angie said. Their bromance was so ON in this - the stupid, immature, deep, complicated way that they love and understand one another. Is it crazy that I think that Batman/Superman metaphor is one of the most profound things I've read in a long time? Seriously, dude, I was like "whoa." The bit about the date of père Puckerman's birthday was so sad-funny-beautiful.

AND THE ENDING. I loved that Finn was surrounded by his evolving little family, and that he's ready to pull Kurt into his very small inner circle. There was a very real progression to how he was handling things (and I do think that the loss of a dad is one of those things that marks a boy forever), underscored by Randy coming and going and Burt coming and hopefully saying.

I am, as I stated before, totally neutral about the results of the birthday contest. But if the poll keeps going the way it is now, it will be an honor to write something for you. ♥ GIANT HEART.

ok, first of all, THAT HEART MAKES ME FEEL LIKE SUCH A PROUD MAMA, IDEK.

And you do not suck except at kissing and you know it. Your review honestly put the biggest, brightest smile on my face after such a stressful day at work. You managed to remind me exactly why I wrote this and posted it. And I can't lie, I'm embarrassingly proud of the Batman/Superman thing.

...he's ready to pull Kurt into his very small inner circle.
That's exactly what I was going for and I'm glad it came across.

Love, thank you so so much for the beta, and the beautiful, beautiful comment and a giant kudos to you & Esra for putting this together for the fandom. You're simply the best ♥
