I probably have massive blinkers on, but I think Arsenal might benefit from the lack of Adebayor's incessant offside runs and occasional days when he couldn't be bothered. As you say, the status of Van Persie's balsa wood legs will be pretty critical, but considering Arshavin played on with stitches in his foot last season I'm not too worried about him. Hopefully the 4-3-3 formation will pay off with the attacking options making up for the frailty in defence.
I predict a tight season ending with Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U then Liverpool. Real Madrid vs Barcelona Champions League final, with Real Madrid to win it.
It'll be interesting to see how much of a contribution Vermaelen can make at the back. By all accounts he's quite a player, and coming from Dutch football it shouldn't take him that long to settle.
No way will Real Madrid win the Champions Leage. Hunterlaar just gave an interview in the Dutch press saying before he left he'd been asked if he could play in central defence, seems they've forgotten to buy half the team again...
He looked fine on Saturday, but that may not have been the best match to judge him on.
Big matches coming up in the next couple of weeks so fingers crossed, since we're only a couple of injuries away from Silvestre playing centre-back. *shudder*
