[Oh, joy, waking up in a strange bed. Nothing suspicious about that, no. Well, being who he was, Alfred had meetings around the world so such a thing shouldn't be too out of the ordinary.
But that was waking up to a different place.
A different time was another story.
Usually one to go about his mornings at semi-consciousness, it wouldn't be until he had settled in front of the television with some toast and coffee his "wife" made for him, and shooed away two scampering tykes, that he realized something was amiss.
And so he goes to investigate the house from top to bottom. Photos showing him and wife on their honeymoon to some generic beach; the church wedding; the birth of the children. A closet full of suits that seemed just a little too bland and with no sign of his vast collection of jackets. A small bookshelf in the master bedroom that lacked comic books. And not a laptop or cellphone in sight.
Only one conclusion had to come to mind. And, after seeing that the phone was functioning, he made a call to no one in particular. ]

GUYS. GUYS. Whoever can hear me--this phone is working so it should go to someplace--ANYWAY whoever can hear me I, Alfred F. Jones, have something to say.
I'm in the wrong dimension.
Tony! Buddy! If you're out there, beam me up and set coordinates for home! I knew I should've prepared! They said everything would become crazy when Y2K happened! And now it has!

What if this is like 'Back to the Future' and I have a mission here?

That has to be it! I was sent here on a mission!
[clearing of his throat]
Forget what you just heard, whoever you are! I'm ready to accept whatever it is you need me to do! Save a planet? Stop a catastrophe? You've got the right guy!
