As expected, by lunch Taeyang had returned with his head hung low and a metaphorical tail between his legs.
After a quick sorry and a near ninety degree bow, Taeyang was in Jiyong's headlock having his Mohawk brutally destroyed.
"Swear you aren't gonna go after my man?" Jiyong laughed.
"I'd never! Let me go, dude," Taeyang laughed right along with him.
Seemingly content, Jiyong released his hold and settled for a single arm slung over his friend’s shoulders.
Seunghyun would have enjoyed the moment if not for the ringing of his phone. Excusing himself to another room, he answered the call.
"Choi Seunghyun speaking."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'm calling for the killer known as TOP."
"Hero," he ground out.
"Big Bang. Going from a ghost to a superstar. A little extreme don't you think? Using your codename in the band too, risky isn't it?"
"What do you want?"
"Haven't we gone through this? I'm going to kill you--"
"Why are you calling?"
"If you'd let me finish I'd tell you I'm willing let all your band members live if you come to me willingly."
"You wouldn't kill them--too much exposure."
"Oh I would, TOP. Maybe a tragic plane crash. An unfortunate fire at a concert. One way or another, I'll kill them…that is, if you plan on being difficult."
"Why?"
"For being one of the top agents, you certainly are slow. The moment you associated with those four, becoming more than a ghost, was the moment you sentenced them to death."
"I'm just going to have to kill you first then aren't I?"
"There's the TOP I know. Much better than the one that was laughing with his friends a bit ago. The blonde kid seems particularly close to you," Hero was smirking on the other end.
Seunghyun quickly took a glance out the opened window. Nothing suspicious seemed to be lurking about.
"That's right, I'm watching you TOP."
The call was ended. Seunghyun didn't even bother shutting his phone. Instead, he shattered it against the wall. Pieces were scattered across the floor when Jiyong stepped in.
"Hyung?" He asked slightly startled.
Seunghyun was taken by surprise. His mind went blank as to what personality he was supposed to use around Jiyong. Too many had already been used. His head was spinning. All his life he had trained to be calm and composed in the face of a difficult situation. Why couldn't he be calm with Jiyong? Jiyong wasn't supposed to happen. That's why. Romantic interests were forbidden for a reason.
"Hyung?" Jiyong questioned again while closing the door behind him.
A small red dot of light shone on the door as soon as it was shut. The light inched towards Jiyong.
The instincts that had been driven into Seunghyun since he was young took over then. He was made to live for the company and destroy whatever compromised the company's objectives. Whatever they asked of him, he would do. Or at least he would until almost a week ago when he met Jiyong. Now all his training was going into protecting the man that had given him courage to leave SM Ent.
Seconds passed by like minutes as Seunghyun dove at Jiyong while shouting 'get down.' He could hear the bullet whiz passed his head as he fell to the ground with Jiyong.
Jiyong was pushed into a corner while Seunghyun opened his underwear drawer and pulled out his .45 from the back.
A glance out the window only showed a multitude of rooms Hero could be in. Being mid-summer, nearly every window was open. The roof was clear. Hero was good at keeping a cover.
"Stay here Jiyong. Don't get in sight of the window," Seunghyun stuffed the gun into his pants and exited the room leaving a shocked Jiyong behind.
The elevators were too slow. Seunghyun opted for the stairs. He had to at least beat Hero out the doors. He practically scaled the gate to YG once he was outside. The apartments he assumed Hero had shot from had people coming and going. They all looked normal. So many men with briefcases. Even more students with backpacks. Everyone exiting from the building was a suspect.
"Crap, sorry," a tall young woman excused herself when she bumped into him.
It was enough time he figured to have missed Hero if he was still making his way out.
"Shit," Seunghyun exclaimed before giving up and returning to his and Jiyong's room.
Jiyong was still in the corner. His eyes were wide when they met Seunghyun's. Seunghyun moved to close the blinds.
"They tried to shoot me. You have a gun," Jiyong gasped.
"Hey, Ji breathe," Seunghyun quickly went to put his hands on Jiyong's shoulders as the younger gasped for air.
"I would have been killed," he gasped again.
"Shh," Seunghyun gave a quick kiss to his lips.
The blonde's breathing evened out. Any panic attack that was possible had subsided. Jiyong still hung quite limp in Seunghyun's arms so he opted to take the younger over to the bed.
"You aren't gonna pass out on me are you kiddo?"
Jiyong shook his head but also laid back on the pillows so he wasn't swaying. "Why do you have a gun?"
"Protection. What else?" Seunghyun easily slipped out a half-truth.
"I've never been shot at."
Seunghyun immediately knew he was to blame. This is why he had tried to keep Jiyong away from him. The company was after him. They wanted to kill him. They feared he would compromise the underground operations currently taking place in South Korea. Any leaked information could lead to the ICPO being on their tail. After a security scare two years ago, SM was certain to never let an agent leave the company. Ghosts were meant to stay ghosts. People without a real name, without a family, without so much as a fingerprint, those people were not meant to be a part of society. Ever.
Seunghyun was one of those people. Born in a tube for all he knew. Two years old, that's when the training started. Basic combat skills at first. Offensive and defensive techniques. Then on to weapons training. Swords. Guns. Bows. Bombs. He had been through it all. They were taught to praise SM like a god and never ever question anything.
Age eleven was when the missions began. Simple code breaking at first. Then onto collecting. Finally, assassinations. For twenty three years of his life, he was Agent #362 codename TOP. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.
His last mission had been in the underground. A Chinese pimp had been siphoning money from areas of Seoul to a prostitution ring in China. TOP was working as a prostitute in order to gain the attention of this man, Shao. To keep up his undercover appearances, TOP had been as much of a whore as he could be. Shao had taken notice.
Then, Jiyong came in. Certainly not a part of the mission but to keep up appearances TOP played along with his new customer. Shao had eyes everywhere. No doubt he was watching TOP's interactions. It was supposed to be a simple job. Get close to Shao, find his account numbers, and get out.
Jiyong changed everything. Suddenly the mission no longer mattered. TOP had always questioned SM in his head. His dream wasn't to be a killer. His dream was to be an artist under YG. SM was his obstacle and it was time to overcome. Though there were threats to kill defectors, he never thought they would waste resources on someone as insignificant as himself.
His final push to leave SM came when he had taken Jiyong to Changdeokgung. He wanted Jiyong though he may not have admitted it at the time. He wanted Jiyong and this life didn't allow that. The solution: remove SM Ent from his life.
Nearly a week went by after he disconnected his locator and destroyed anything he had of SM's. If they were going to come after him, he figured a week was enough. Then Jiyong drug Seunghyun into his life. Seunghyun believed SM was no longer a concern.
Now he had been proven wrong.
"They're after me, not you," Seunghyun swept the blonde bangs out of Jiyong's confused eyes. "I've got to go."
Jiyong stopped him though. His small hands both grabbed at Seunghyun's hem. "Why are they after you?"
Seunghyun shook his head. "I can't tell you that Jiyong. I need to leave."
"You'll be back?" he asked quietly.
"I...I'll be back. For you," Seunghyun couldn't be sure if he telling the truth or not but he needed to kiss Jiyong before he let go.
Jiyong wanted to cry but he stayed strong. Maybe he was still in a moment of shock. Either way, the kiss felt like he was sending his boyfriend off to war. It was a long and slow kiss. When it ended, he let his hands slip from Seunghyun's shirt. Then the man he was falling in love with disappeared out the door and Jiyong's consciousness slipped away along with him.

Seungri was the first to poke his head into the room the next morning.
"Yah, Jiyong?" he shook the leader hoping to wake him.
Jiyong swatted away the hand and rolled to his side.
"You and Seunghyun didn't show up to practice or dinner. We tried calling but you didn't answer," he trailed off when Jiyong looked at him. "How was the sex?" Seungri grinned.
Jiyong looked next to him, seeing the empty side of the bed. Behind Ri's head was the bullet hole. It wasn't a dream. Seunghyun had left.
"He left Ri," Jiyong shook his head.
"What?"
"Seunghyun, he left. Someone tried to kill me. They would have. Seunghyun saved me," he stuttered and gasped for a breath.
"Jiyong calm down. Where's Seunghyun?"
"He...I...I don't know."
"Someone shot at you?"
Jiyong nodded.
"We need to call the police," Seungri reached for Jiyong's cellphone on the nightstand. The phone, however, wouldn't come on. "Charge your phone would you?" Seungri tossed the device on the bed and went for the wall phone in the kitchen.
Minutes later he reentered the bedroom. "The phones aren't...working..." he trailed off at the lack of Jiyong being in the room. "Jiyong?" he called out only to receive no answer.

Five hours later Seungri, Taeyang, and Daesung were standing in front of Yang Goon.
"What do you mean they're gone?" he boomed.
Taeyang was the first to speak, normally it would have been Jiyong confronting the head of YG but circumstances didn't allow for that.
"Jiyong said someone had tried to kill him. We found a bullet hole in the wall. Seunghyun was already gone," Taeyang looked to Seungri for confirmation. The younger simply nodded his head. "Seungri went to call the police...but none of our phones were working. Jiyong was gone when Seungri went back to his room."
That was all they knew. Jiyong left his phone on the bed, his keys were still on the nightstand, and only his shoes were gone.
"It took you five hours to come to me about this?" Yang Goon wasn't in a good mood.
Seungri spoke up this time, "We thought maybe Jiyong went to you. Maybe they were just messing around. They've been gone for a few hours before..." but the excuse was lame. Even Seungri could see that.
"There was a bullet hole in the wall and your phones were dead," YG shook his head. "I'm getting the police involved. No media whatsoever. Big Bang's activities are paused due to Jiyong and Seunghyun having a stomach virus. Got it?"
"Yes, sir," the three responded in unison as they bowed.

A single light swung back and forth casting moving shadows on the wall. The squeaking it made only succeeded in causing Jiyong's pounding headache to grow. He hung his head low, staring at the ropes that bound his waist and legs to a metal chair.
"Glad to see you're awake, Kwon. I thought I may have hit you a bit too hard," two greenish colored heels came into view. The voice however wasn't that of a woman's.
"Where? Who..." Jiyong found himself parched and unable to complete his sentence.
"You're in an old warehouse. Typical for kidnappings am I right?" laughed his captor. "Who? You can call me Jaejoong," the man slipped out of the heels and tossed them to the side. A long black wig soon followed after. "Though I suppose you could call me Hero, but I'm not sure that name is appropriate given your situation."
Jiyong groaned as he moved his sore neck to look up at this Hero character. His eyes were cold and distant. He was tall. His hair, a dark black hue. Slightly effeminate around the face but his arms revealed well-toned muscles as the man tossed his jacket to the side.
"Mm, it's a shame you got messed up in this. I'm quite the fan of your music," Hero pulled around a chair and sat in front of Jiyong.
"You're going to kill me," it was more a statement than a question.
"Yes, but not yet. We're waiting on your new friend."
"Seunghyun," Jiyong felt as if he were calling out to the man instead of simply acknowledging the name.
"That's his alias for now. The only name he has is Agent #362," Hero grinned and lifted Jiyong's chin. "We were hoping he'd get involved with a pretty girl. Lovers are always better for causing rash decisions. Guess we have to settle with him finding a friend in a pretty boy like you. Still, friendship is more a relationship than he's ever had."
Jiyong wasn't sure if they were mocking the relationship he had with Seunghyun or if they simply didn't know. Either way, it couldn't be good for Seunghyun.
"He won't come. We're only friends because we have to be for the band," Jiyong lied through his teeth.
"Right, and that's why you drug him into Big Bang in the first place," Hero obviously didn't believe him.
Jiyong was going to keep up the charade. Somehow his lies built up his strength. "I only did that because I owed him. We're only civil with each other for business."
"You play fair. That's cute," he dropped Jiyong's chin. "But I'm not buying. You laughed together in the comfort of your private bedroom. You mean something more than business partners to him."
A slew of profanities were running through Jiyong's mind. This person had been watching them. It's a wonder he hadn't seen them kiss.
"So you see Kwon, Seunghyun will come for you. We'll be waiting. Then, we will kill you both."
"Go fuck yourself," Jiyong spat out.
A hard slap across the face followed seconds after. Then a punch to the gut knocked the air from his lungs. His cheek stung and he felt like vomiting. Jaejoong was smiling.
"I'll see you again when Seunghyun calls me."
The man turned and walked out. A metal door was latched shut and then the light was switched off leaving Jiyong in the dark.

Next Chapter A/N: DBSK and SM aren't really the villains of the story. They're simply a company doing their job. Though I can't say they are the best for our boys. (Yes this is my lame attempt to make DBSK shine in a brighter light because I hate making them bad). We only got one happy chapter before more drama, I feel bad. Also, if there are any inconsistencies in the facts of the story, I apologize. xD
