“One day, you’ll thank me for yanking your leash, Mike. Sometimes I wish someone had been there to yank mine.”
Awkward silence hung in the air between them. Elevators were always slow at the most inopportune times.
Mike was livid. Jack had bushwhacked him. And in open court no less! If memory served him correctly Adam Schiff had yanked Jack’s chain plenty. He did what he wanted regardless.
Over the years he’d thought Jack McCoy was many things. Hypocrite was never one of them.
McCoy’s weary eyes looked at Mike from inside the elevator.
“I’ll wait for the next one.”
