My eyes are bagging due to the sudden crunch time to get everything prepped up in time for Christmas with the Barrs. My mission to make enough money by Christmas flopped due to many circumstances and now I'm at the point to where I'm shamefully begging for money in exchange with a reimbursement plan. But I still have two more days.
Matt and I went to the Vienna mall on Saturday to eat Chinese food and to see if Gamestop still sells Playstation One memory cards - which, unfortunately, was the converse. Never in my life have I seen so much red, and I'm not talking about Christmas decorations. Red tags were attached to anything you can possibly attach them to, they draped along stores' windows, and the mere mentioning of 'red tag' or 'sale' was the first thing you'd hear out of a salesperson's mouth. I couldn't budge for a single deal for myself since my wallet is expected to be in the deep negatives after Christmas. We arrived two hours before the mall closed that night (10:00 p.m.) and nothing settled one bit. Imagine what it's like in the big department stores in New York, ESPECIALLY the high-end ones like Barney, which recently announced that their sale has taken an all time low of 70% off.
I didn't send out my annual hand-made Christmas cards this year - can't afford to do so this time. So for those who I especially love and have gotten close to in the past year, you'll be receiving one in person and maybe a small gift.
I'm making pumpkin bread in a bit so that's exciting. I think I'm genuinely excited about the holidays for once(after the worst is over), and gift-giving because I've taken a step-up from my embarrassing gifts that I gave to the Barr family last year. Maybe the brand new record player had me feeling guilt.
P.S. I'm obsessed with cosmetics right now. Party make-up is so much fun to wear.
