Well work has been rather crazy. The boss lady over at work doesn't quite seem to know what to expect from her IT department, but seems to be under the impression that we can hand her the world. So nothing new there, just sounds like another customer over at Dell, albeit a permanent one. But of course I'm given a certain lack of tools here. Whenever I need an installation cd of any sort I have to practically beg and plead on my knees. Nor am I given a lock for my drawers either. Oh, and no lock on the server room, even though she's paranoid about security. That one is a really sticky wicket. They also have only outdated maps of their network and an equipment inventory from the stone age. Also let us not forget about how she swore up and down that there were never computer problems there. Well there has already been one virus outbreak which was quickly contained and remedied. With no lockdown whatsoever on internet usage though she keeps telling me to do it. But of course doesn't let me know who needs access to what. So it is fun times here, fun times indeed. At least I've kept the job for a week now. Yey! Paychecks are every week too. Yey! I look forward to breaking the $0.50 macaroni diet. I figure if I still have the job by the end of the month then it is probably a keeper. Yey! No answering phones. The coworkers are pretty easy to get along with as well, though they have a certain lack of description when it comes to problems. "Hey Jeff, there was an error so could you fix it please?" "Sure, what's the error?" "Well ... there was an error." Which is an unduplicatable error 99% of the time so far as well because every time I've come over to look at it the error never happens again, except for once so far. So that's the fun and games of the job. Cheerios!
And in other words ... the cats are cruisin' for a bruisin'.
