Well SAU did a good job of making me look bad this week. The wifey got a bit panicky several days ago when upon opening the mail she finds a collections notice for about a grand. Naturally this did not make anyone around here happy and thus started my drawn out battle with Southern. I gave collections a call to let them know that I'm disputing the charge and they were very nice and helpful and gave me as much information as they had about the loan. I then gave Southern a call. No answer and nobody around who can give me someone to talk to. I left voicemail and tried again an hour later. Lather, rinse, repeat. And again. And again. Again. Again I say! Things degenerated to where I was calling every half hour. So for the rest of the week right up to this very morning I kept calling and calling and finally got ahold of someone. Who knew nothing about what I was talking about and so I was transfered. The other person didn't know much about what I was talking about either but then a light bulb clicked on and she let me know that they had talked to collections at the beginning of the week, that there was a computer glitch and my loan was submitted for no reason at all, and that there is nothing to worry about no loan here carry on. Well that's all fine and dandy and you were going to let me know about this ... when? Anyhow since I trust SAU Finance about as far as I can throw
pixeldrift (which is not very far since he is all no-touchy) I gave collections a call and they nicely confirmed for me that there really is no loan here. Which will make the pretty lil' wifey much happier now. So thus ends my battle with Southern. I expect many more in the future. Computer glitch hmmmmmm? I have to say that it is much nicer talking with collections than it is with Southern's Financial Department. Isn't that sad?
