Always the Same

A few things happen to be the same, and this includes entrance ceremonies in Japan. You'd think we'd get tired of hearing the same "ganbatte" speech over and over again, but frankly, I found it to be pretty familiar-and a sign my Japanese isn't as smooth as it used to be. >D But oh well, I passed the entrance exams and I'm a freshman at Meiji. We'll take you out to Chiba and we can all break out the gaudy hawaiian shirts. Actually, I think I'll just go topless.

Not wearing that while surfing, man! Cramps my style.

We always got away with it back in middle school. Well, I did. Might've been because I always wore it unbuttoned but I still got away with it.

Speaking of surfing, I need to kick your butt at it.

Why would you want to? I mean, it just feels better without a shirt on, unless you're doing some major waves. Chiba doesn't count as major.

Truuuust me. You won't be kicking anything.

It was just a bit more comfortable that way. Plus I got sunburned real easy back then, so I had to be careful. It's not so bad now. I don't think I ever wore a shirt down on the beach in Cali.

Wanna bet? I reckon I could kick your ass from here to Hawaii with my skills.

Oh riiiight, pale people get sunburned. Whoops. >D

Course I'll bet. You forget, I've played around on the Banzai Pipeline.

I'm not as white as I used to be. Not anymore. And it's all natural.

Remind me to throw my trophy cabinet at you when we go to America. What are the stakes?

Just nothing involving the boards. Those things are precious and godly.

So am I! And you're not the only one with trophies, wahahaha. And I wouldn't play for boards. How about buying dinner for the group?

I bet you're just trying to trick people that you aren't Japanese. I didn't think you would, but I thought I'd just put it out there. Some people just don't realize how precious they are. Dinner. For our group? Shit load of food there. But sure. Bring it on.

Eh? I've been dark since I was a baby. Mom's really dark, too. I'm half. Now how the hell would threaten a board? That's crazy talk.

It'll include dessert. I like dessert.

Yeah? Wow, that's pretty cool. The twins. I don't trust them anywhere near my board unless I'm in the room.

Good. Cause you're gonna be buying a lot of it.

Huh, I thought everyone new that. I'm brown beyond really tan. You know they have their own boards, right?

I like chocolate desserts best.

I've noticed. But, nah, never knew that. Well aware. I still don't trust them. They've been trying to get me to bodysurf.

Chocolate is good.

The more you know, hahahah! Yeah, you're screwed, man. But they're not going to mess with your board.

Make sure mine has sprinkles.

I'm just one of these guys who's just plain old Japanese through and through. I know. I'd be pissed if they did. It's not the most expensive board, but it's the one that helped me win the junior champs when I was in high school.

Mine's gotta have caramel.

Made things easier in school, huh? Trust me, they're not going to mess with it. I know Atsushi's board is pretty well-loved.

Then you can buy me sprinkles and you can have caramel.
