[His expression and voice are deadpan.] Yes. I escaped from my master, and I've been running from them ever since. Though, recently, running grew tiresome enough that I stopped. Denarius will come for me. My skin is far too expensive for him to tarry too long...I hope.

How barbaric. Were there many slaves in your homeland?

Am I to take your statement to mean that all he wants back is your skin?

Barbaric as it may be, yes there are slaves in Tevinter, and in Orlais, and in Antiva. The latter two are simply more quiet about it. In Tevinter, the Imperium would crumble if the bent backs of their slaves were moved. And they treat them as such, nothing but fodder for their infernal blood magic or to beat when the whim strikes them, or to ridicule, or to withhold meals at their amusement.

...Correct, or so I've been told by the hunters.
