I hope your vengeance is not all you know in such long years. I have known one whose wrath had all but consumed her and others used it to nearly make a pawn of her.

[There's a laugh. There may even be some humour in it.] I suppose... that is one way of putting it. He was a good man once. Or perhaps I was too blinded to his faults. Either way, it cannot be changed.

It's possible that it was both, maybe he was a good man and you were blinded by the faults he had. But you're right, it can't be changed.
