Another fine day in the underworld. It would seem some have had the good fortune to be sent home. To them, I wish all the best.

[Despite his jovial tone, Balthier's expression holds a certain degree of strain. There's a tiredness to him that wasn't there when he first arrived.Well. Either my natural inclination to hole myself up for days at a time ( Read more... )

[She is only going to roll her eyes.]

If you find any documents with actual information written in or on them, please let me know. Also, try not to die in the process. I would not be surprised if Hades left a few traps there.

Ah, such doubt, Misaki. Do have a little faith.

Whatever is found, you have my word I'll not keep it from you.

Thank you. [She inclines her head in gratitude.]

By the way, I do have faith [She pauses for effect.] in Hades' traps.

Ah, traps. I hope they're at least half as good as King Raithwall's or it will be a rather dull venture.

King Raithwall? [And now she's curious.]

The long dead Dynast King who united all of Ivalice. His tomb was quite the labyrinth of most... curious traps. And an utter bust as far as treasure was concerned, I'm sad to say.

So you went through a lot of work for nothing?

Not entirely for nothing. As her Ladyship put it- "A treasure who's value is beyond measure."

While that is all well and good, you can't exactly sell an Esper for Gil if you can't measure its worth.

[She can figure out the rest by context but....]

An Esper? Is that an animal of some sort?

Of some sort, perhaps.

As legend has it, they are immortal creations of the gods who rose up against their creators and were struck down, sealed within glyphs and doomed to obey the one who holds that glyph. Raithwall possessed the glyphs of two Espers- Belias the Gigas and Mateus the Corrupt.

The only part of the legend I can attest to being correct is that they are immortal beings and they are indeed bound to those who possess their glyph.

However you found an Esper. Which one did you find?

Eventually we found of all thirteen of them.

The one guarding Raithwall's tomb and the Dawn Shard was Belias.

If they are not worth any money then why did you go to the effort of finding all thirteen? I assume they had power. Was it needed?

The value of power is immeasurable only to one who has cause to use it. And we all found that we had cause to use them.

You have lived quite a life by the sounds of it. [Pause.] You should be preparing for your trip, should you not?

I suppose that is true on on both accounts.

Perhaps one day you would speak of your life in your world?
