And all the viewer will see at first will be an object - a pale, black, and white object - swinging back and forth across the screen in a wide, upwards arch. The background is moving too fast for anything to make sense, the only sound that can be heard being a soft scrabble of some sort. Some quiet mutterings, perhaps, in between breaths.
And possibly the squish and slosh of wet footsteps.
Eventually, the scene slows, though. Enough to make out the soft lines of a stomach. The straight white edge of a shirt. Behind it is the rolling grey of the fog that most would be familiar with by now. Along with the moaning threat of the Underworld's new danger.
A soft gasp is heard as the scene shifts back, the woman's hips - because, indeed, it was a woman - angle themselves in a sideways stance, and the device swings around back to catch a glimpse of what's stopped her advances. The audience will catch a split second of gnarled and melted faces that have their eyes set on her. A dozen of them at least. Behind them in the distance is a familiar building seated at the top of the hill that overlooked the entire port city.
The world jolts out of view just then, the dim grey of the sky flashing across the screen before stopping with a sudden lurch. Half the viewer is dark, the other half still catching the shuffle and shift of her foot that's still within sight of the camera. There's a jagged edge reaching from one side of the screen to the other that marks where the muddied earth ended and the clouded surface began. And it's certainly not a pretty sight.
The last thing they hear is her battle cry. The last thing they see is her charging forth into the fight, arms glowing and armed with her only weapons. Her only saviors... before a rotted foot steps into view and the device is kicked face down into the mud.
The sound, however, is still working perfectly fine. Unfortunately. ]
