[Jill's standing in her small kitchen at the counter, stirring a steaming mug with one hand as the other switches on the tablet, propped up against the microwave.]
I think someone else already said it, but this time of year really makes you stop and think about how long you've actually been here. Then again, the holidays make you do a lot of thinking, anyway.
[A brief, distracted smile as she looks back to her mug.] I wasn't here last Christmas, but I'm betting they don't cut us any slack even for a holy day, am I right?
[She shakes her head slightly as she raises her drink, the next words softer, but not inaudible.] I don't think the raptors or cryptic messages were exactly heralds of good tidings.
