[the feed flicks on, and there is a shot of little shiny shoes. it's stable for a moment before shaking slightly, as if someone is holding it and giving it a testing rattle. when nothing seems to change, the image becomes stationary again, focused on the small shoes and the (familiar looking? well, is it familiar looking to you?) ground underneath

Yeah, uh, there's a function for that. Comes with a keyboard.

[Can you see the gears behind her eyes working to comprehend exactly what that means? How about the subtle headtilt of confusion.]
[Was it somewhere that you hung keys? She could have sworn that was called a keyhook.]

Keyboard. You know. Typing? Like on a computer? A typewriter? Whatever devolved, caveman level of technology your world had?

[Nill nods, although...really, this doesn't look like a typewriter. She hasn't used one before, but they're big and bulky, right? And...well, yes, there were computers, but those were mostly used as monitors during medical procedures for all she knew.]
[...yes. A nod.]

[But after a second - when the question had fully sunken in - Nill gave a tentative nod in return.]

[Deftly, the petite blond raises an equally petite hand and draws out four letters with the tip of her pointer finger.]
[N - I - L - L.]

You are in the Underworld, I'm sorry to say. There are many here, like myself. You're... not alone are you? [Poor thing shouldn't be alone.]
And are you not able to speak? There is a function on the thing you're looking at now that will let you type on it. You can use 'text'.
[And he changes to text to show her, words appearing on the screen for her.]
See? Like this.

[Well, he could do it and her immediate thoughts would have to be that it couldn't be that hard. While it had not popped up as an option, she had - more or less - just pressed a few buttons and ended up here.]
[And a text option on this thing seemed much more convenient, especially when she had so many questions, and so little paper...]
[Feel treated by the several long, awkward and silent seconds with which she fumbles around with the tablet. No, really, fumbles. Which results in ;]

Yes. It looks like you have the gist of it already.
I would also advise not staying where you are if you can. There are homes, apartments, residents north of where you are now that are for the taking. You would be better there than trying to figure things out in the middle of the docks.
But I will do my best to answer any questions you might have. My name is Charles Xavier, and I've been brought here, much like you.

[Nill glanced around and if she looked behind her she could see the rooftops of buildings over the trees. Huh...maybe that is what he meant.]
[Painstakingly slow yet again; ]
it is nice to meet you mister xavier .
[Chances are, if he hadn't responded in text, she would have never been able to spell his name right.]
my name is nill . how long have you been here ?

[Someone had mentioned that before, but that did not mean it had become any easier since then. In fact, she's been doing horribly, with constantly closing the touch keyboard and getting into all sorts of maps or blank notes or funny keyboards with only numbers...]
[- all while the camera was still rolling.]
[But she got the virtual letters back rather easily this time and slowly typed out; ]
i have never used something like this ...

You can have someone teach you how to use it.

[Another one of those things Naoto didn't need right now... or ever]

Nill...
[Eyebrows furrow a bit.]
Show me where you are... I'll come and pick you up.

[She was still lost, sure, but at least she wasn't fully alone...]
[An all too relieved expression washed over her face - a smile, wide and excited and there for a moment before her lips part as if to say something that's just not about to happen.]
[But she can show her where she is, and nods toward the tablet - toward Naoto - before looking up. Nill swung the tablet around after a second, showing somewhere near the pathway between the residential area and the market place.]

Stay there. I'll be there in a moment.
[She ends the feed and case on her good shoulder, she's out the door. And it takes her all of maybe ten minutes to find Nill. At least the young girl was in her view now.]
