[It's taken Minako longer than it should have to remember the date - after all, it was just October a few months ago as far as she's concerned. Once it occurs to her what day it is, though, it shouldn't come as any surprise that she comes looking for Shinjiro.
It takes her a while to find her way up to the roof - she's checked the rest of the dorm, short of actually barging uninvited into his room to look for him. The roof is her last stop before she ventures out into the rest of the Underworld... and here he is, and she realizes suddenly that she has no idea what, if anything, she was planning to say when she found him.
She hesitates for a little while before she starts across the roof towards Shinjiro and his lawn chair.]
[Despite all that had been going on Mitsuru still remembered the date, she remembered it while laying awake on the 3rd. Not just that date years ago though, she also remembered what happened more recently on October 4th back in her world. The day that she had lost "her" Shinjiro. She couldn't forget the date, and she doubted that Shinjiro could either. So, she went out looking for him.
She didn't know what she'd say, or if he even wanted to talk with her after their last conversation, but she did anyway. She had a fairly good idea of where to look too. She walked up to the roof and hesitated a moment before actually saying anything to him. ]
It ...looks like we've been given some rest from this place.
[It was hard to explain, but he liked rooftops. He could always be found on top of Gekkoukan High School sleeping when he cut classes, and it would seem he hasn't shaken the habit.
Shinjiro turns his head upon hearing Mitsuru's voice, but relaxes it and continues to look out ahead at the other buildings.]
They gotta have time to figure out some new way to fuck with us.
[After another brief hesitation, she moved closer to him and chuckled. There was a hint of bitterness in that chuckle that she tried to hide.]
I suppose there's truth in that. Unless they already have a stockade of things to do to us stored away...[She put her arms around herself awkwardly before moving on to the question she really wanted to ask.] How are you...?
Still here. [That's what they wanted. He wasn't suicidal, but he couldn't shake the weird feelings this day brought about. He wondered if there would ever be a day that he would be at peace and learn to let go, and if so, if he'd be alive to experience it.]
[Gambit's done his share of information gathering, as he's want to do around here, and he knows that Laura's fond of Junpei, and he knows Junpei and the rest of SEES lives in this dormitory, for lack of a better word. If someone where to ask Remy what he did in his spare time, he'd say he's around. What he's normally doing is keeping an eye on people of interest.
Because the people in this dorm are of interest to Laura, they're of interest to Remy also. Not only that, but he's made a habit of making rounds across the rooftops to keep a bird's eye view of things. Because of that, He watched the kid, Shinjiro, come to the roof and set up his chair. He'd watched him for a while before he'd decided to actually say something to him. Something was bothering him, that was pretty obvious, but nothing was that serious.
Well, not many things, anyway. He made his way from the adjacent building nearly silently, but didn't do much to mask his approach as he came within speaking range.If yo' lookin' fo' some sunbathin', yo' goin' about it

[Shinjiro doesn't show any reaction to Gambit aside from a bit of annoyance on his once expressionless face. He doesn't move, continuing to look out over the residential area from his chair.]
[After all he remembered transpiring, Akihiko could never forget this day again. October 4th. The say they'd all caused an innocent woman to die. The day Ken had become an orphan. The day Ken's life had been changed forever.
And it was there fault. He knew Shinji still blamed himself for it, but they'd all had a hand in it. He'd gone to Shinji's room to look for him first, but, not finding him there, he headed up, instead.
That's where Shinji's stayed when they wanted to be left alone, after all, that or in dingy alleys.
[He should have known eventually that Akihiko would go looking for him. Perhaps he should have chosen an alleyway, or a sparsely populated spot. But it's too late for that now.
[Not that this was the highest point for Naoto to be standing upon, but she wanted to get a better look at the city.. town... hell... whatever people were calling it. So when she opens the door to the roof, she sees him. She doesn't exactly ignore him per say, but there's nothing to say. At least not to a stranger.]
[Recovering, right. Badou would probably give her some sort of lecture for moving around, but she was fine. Her shoulder still hurt from when he shot her (still bandaged up too) but that was is.]
[Case slung over her good shoulder as she approached the edge.]
[Shinjiro looks up and stares at the girl, mildly curious as to why she's there and what she's up to. She seems to be eyeing him for some reason. Something seems off about her too.]
[Even though this is supposed to hell, it looks too normal. Too much like a town or a city. Hell, there's freaking CHURCH like stature. None of this makes sense to her.]
[Brushing her bangs out of her face, Naoto sighed.]

[She picks her way over to sit down next to his chair, tucking her skirt around her legs, heedless of roof grit.]
I just wanted to see... how you were holding up. [And make sure he wasn't out doing anything self-destructive.]
