[When the video cuts in, Sephiroth is seated, quietly, collectedly, at his desk. He appears prepared to speak, when a voice speaks up from behind him, a
man strides into view behind him.]
Infinite in mystery is the Gift of the Goddess.
We seek it thus, and take to the sky.
Ripples form on the water's surface.
[Sephiroth looks toward his shoulder, eyes narrowed, but doesn't turn to face this newcomer. The man, now close behind the General, places his hand on his shoulder to accentuate the next line.]
The wandering soul knows no rest.
[Sephiroth's response is low, nearly whispered.] ...Genesis.
This is what has become of Our Great Hero?
[Sephiroth turns, finally, standing and facing the smaller man.]
Who are you to-
Trapped in this world of the dead, dreaming of staying, afraid of what your future holds, despairing over your own destruction.
[Sephiroth's eyes narrow for the briefest of moments before he takes a few steps away from the desk, away from the device he's obviously forgotten, putting his back to this Genesis.]
Angeal always said a man is nothing without his dreams or his honor.
[Genesis offers him a casual chuckle.] Your dream is a place such as this? [The other man tilts his head, and quotes again.]
Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul.
Pride is lost.
Wings stripped away, the end is nigh. [He heaves a small sigh as Sephiroth narrows his eyes, this time in an expression of confusion rather than annoyance.]
You've flown away now, to this world which abhors the living.
All that awaits you is a somber morrow,
No matter where the winds may blow.
[Sephiroth heaves a sigh, looking away from his once-friend.] Make your point and be gone, Genesis.
You can never understand her.
[That gives Sephiroth pause, but only for a moment.]
You do not know her.
[Genesis moves to his friend's side, holding out a hand in which sits a blue-hued apple.]
No, but I do know you, my friend, and I know who you are not.
Legend shall speak
Of sacrifice at World's End.
You wish to be what you believe she deserves.
To become the dew that quenches the land;
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies.
I can share this knowledge with you, should you desire...
[The video feed ends as Sephiroth, confused, turns toward him.]
[OOC; This, of course, is Genesis-speech.]
