Hey, not my fault. I wasn't the one who went and got himself sent home.
[Sam nods at that, though.] Garlic, stakes, holy water. A couple of rosaries. We have dead man's blood, but I don't think that works against his kind of vampire.
And, of course, a few good weapons for a bit of beheading if it comes to that.
[Sam's read Dracula, of course. Just never thought, even when he was growing up, that it would actually be useful.]

Like there's much to be on purpose about around here. [Yeah, Sam's still stinging a bit over Jess. Sue him.]
Dead man's blood. It's...mostly used for incapacitation back home, though if you can get them to drink it, that'll kill the vampires, but even wounds from a weapon covered with it will cause wounds that are slow to heal. But it'll stop 'em long enough to decapitate them.
[Sam's good about talking shop. Keeps his mind off of other things around here.]
Yeah, I understand that. But I also would rather be ready in case something does. We were already stocked up in case the newer version of Dean loses his grip. Nothing wrong with being ready for this, too.
[The Roadhouse makes Sam pause a moment in thought, simply because there's a lot of considerations to take in there.] It's a place of business, yes, but it's also Ellen's home. She's poured about as much of herself into that place as it's possible to. Given the various protections that have been worked into it by at least two generations of Hunters, it's a good safe haven when

[Sorry, Harry. He is doing his best to not take it out on other people. Right now, that means work and a few nights of drinking. And possibly killing stuff in the forest.]
I wouldn't make bets on it working. Not when there are lives at stake. Best just go with van Helsing's plan.
[They really should. Sam has a few people in his world, but it's always good to hear more.]
We should, yeah. I'm around the Roadhouse most nights, if I'm not at home.
Same in our world. In fact, most of the stuff Dean and I go after is stuff that hardly anybody believes in. Useful on the one hand, but they get tricked so easily on the other. Magic itself is...well, when it's in the hands of mortals, it generally comes from a little helping hand from demons.
[Video::Locked]chosefamilySeptember 18 2011, 13:04:33 UTC
It's a useful, non-painful way of checking if a person is possessed. Demons don't like it. Makes 'em flinch. So it's useful, if you know what you're looking for.
[Hey, at least he's not admitting that he may have spiked a drink or two with holy water. It's just safety.]

Generally, when we come upon witches, they're using their powers to hurt the people around them. Witch, in this sense, being the historical usage of someone who uses black magic. Hunters sometimes have to use spells themselves because it can be the only way to take down certain kinds of creatures. After all, exorcism can certainly be considered a type of spell.
[He grins slightly.] And if you're wondering, yes, I can rattle an exorcism off off the top of my head.
[Then, something finally seems to catch up with him.] Wait. You could...sense the meaning behind the usage? That's kind of new and different. And definitely useful in certain cases. [Oh, the trouble that could have saved him and Dean with Ruby. So much trouble.]
[He does have the sense to look a little chagrinned at being called out on the 'Faith flavored drinks'.] Yes, well. You can't ever be too careful. Especially not around here.

Hmm. We get those back home. They're called Warlocks and they're usually dealt with by the White Council's Wardens. Usually.
Impressive. that takes a lot of focus.
[Harry shrugs.] Not the meaning, just the power behind it. You had Faith in the word you were using, it was a symbol backed by a higher power to you. That's what I caught up on.
But essentially, yeah I can feel energy like faith and magic and the like. It can be very helpful... unless of cours ethe bad guy knows hot to hide. Less helpful then.
[Harry gave Sam a brief almost mock reprimanding look before smiling.] It's not the worst treatment I've been given and really I don't blame you.
[To say that Sam looks perturbed and...okay, a little bemused.]
Okay, that's just...what the hell?
[Making a list, checking it twice. Since this is the book Dracula, at least Sam knows what to stock up on. Just in case.]
Reply
And yes, seriously. You folks would be capable of keeping yourselves safe, right?
[And about the Roadhouse... hmmm... He needed to talk to Ellen. Add that to the list.]

[Harry tilts his head.] Dead mans what?
Hopefully it won't. Again, last thing I want is a fight with people getting hurt.
What's your thoughts on the Roadhouse?

Hmm... it's worth trying though it's best to be careful.
[Harry likes talking shop. In fact, they should d it more often.]
The vampire, one? Yeah, fair enough. We really should meet up and compare notes.
I think I will. I like Ellen. And there's a few things I could cook up yeah...
Mmm. Most people back home don't even believe it exists so I can understand.

Same here.
Alright, I might stop by when I have the change. Right now It's trying to fix my damn apartment. I'm thinking of cutting it off as a loss.
Heh, people, eh?
I.... oh. Well that explains why you and Dean both are a bit iffy about me.
Yeeeesh.
Reply
If your apartment looks as good as you do right now? You're probably better writing it off, yeah.
[The rest of it, he pauses and shrugs.]
Honestly, so far? You've been pretty solid. Most people use magic in our world to get things for themselves. That's what the demons push them to do.
Reply
Yeah, demons do that. But hey, good to hear I'm solid!

Hey, we've stopped muttering Christo around you. That's generally a good start.

Christo? What the hell were you doing that for?
