[The face in the video feed isn't Lúthien's. Instead, you are treated to the wet nose of her dog, Huan, as he stands over the tablet. He chuffs and paws at the screen, sniffing at it and drooling a little. In the background, a rhythmic clacking noise can be heard, as well as soft, melodic singing.

Why do you sing?

[He sounds curious, though, rather than accusatory.]

I sing because I love to do so. It is a part of my nature, you might say. Do you find it odd?

No. I only wondered if there was another reason.

Much of the magic I use is cast through song, but this is not one such as those.

[Have a rather battered but still alive wizard.]

I've always wanted to hear elves sing.

Harry, what has happened to you? Are you wounded?

Got a nice beat down from some dead enemies. Fun really. Had to get a new place and everything.

[He shrugs and winces.]

Just bruised to all hell.

You ought to seek a healer. I could, perhaps, be of assistance, for bruises are not the worst injuries to which I have tended.

'Tis an ode to Valinor, the Blessed Realm. There dwell the Valar and the Maiar, who are, as I have told you, the spirits whose songs shaped the world before time began. I have never seen the light of Valinor save in the face of my dear mother, and I never shall.

[He rather knows what it's like, to only catch a glimmer of light and know he'll never see it again.]

Why is that?

It was given to me to choose between life eternal in Valinor or a mortal life in Middle-earth with my husband. I chose a mortal life, forsaking surety of happiness or peace. I do not regret the choice to share in my husband's fate, but now I know not whether I shall ever be reunited with him.

[Enchanted by her voice is one way to describe Fenris.] That was...beautiful.

...and an adorable dog.

It is a simple song. You are too kind. [Huan can be heard barking offscreen.] He also thanks you for your kind words.

I've...never heard a song like that before.

That was lovely.

[There's a moment's pause.]

What are you making?

It is a tapestry. [Lúthien turns the tablet to show the half-finished cloth. The base is midnight blue, dotted with iridescent stars. On the left, branches of a golden tree encircling the sun, and on the right, a silver tree and moon.]

Laurelin and Telperion, the two Trees of Valinor that gave light to the world before the sun or moon. They have long since withered, but their memory is dear to the Elves.

[The feed wavers a bit before stabilizing enough to show a battered but faintly-smiling Toby. Badly off-center, because what are camera phones even.] It's beautiful.

Things that have passed are often cherished in memory.

The Trees left the sun and moon to light both night and day. Their memory lives on eternal.

But you, how badly are you injured?
