[ the tablet goes unnoticed by its owner. she's currently a bit busy. the video feed opens up on a dining room, with the tablet clearly sitting on a table, facing the open room. its owner isn't visible. she's somewhere off-screen, but her voice - and that of her female visitor - is clearly audible. ]
You're dead. He said he did the deed, why are you here?
You had him kill me! Just because she came to find me!
I didn't want to see her. You knew that.
What else could I do? She was so nice. And I really did want to meet her.
Well, I didn't.
[ isobel turns, finally crossing the view of the camera for one moment. she looks normal - mostly. for anyone who's spent time around her, the most notable thing is that her head is down a little more than usual. her stride is a tiny bit less confident, too, but that's harder to see. soon enough, she's gone from view again and another woman crosses behind her. this one has long, curly blonde hair and is wearing a light blue jogging outfit. from the pale color of her hair to the curls to the way she carries herself, this woman looks like isobel's polar opposite in every way. ]
I didn't want to know her. [ because elena had represented everything isobel had given up in her life - her daughter, her husband... elena was what she could never have, what she refused to speak of or acknowledge the pain associated with. ]
So you just stopped caring about everything and-
[ there's a scuffle, a short yell by the blonde, and then her body is tossed to the floor in front of the camera like she's merely a pillow, not a human. isobel finally notices the tablet and comes over to block the blonde's body from view. her expression is cold, unfeeling, completely covering up the real feelings swirling around in that hole of humanity she still has left. ]
She deserved it.
[ the words are quick, cold, and then the feed cuts off. ]
