[It was late for some people and Drake had been finding himself at this particular bar lately just to be out of the apartment. At the very least it was a decent place where he could sit, enjoy a drink, and listen to the conversations around him. However, this was an unusual time even for him, but he had been unable to sleep and rather than stare at the walls of his apartment he figured he would see what the crowd was like at the bar.

When he entered he spotted a familiar woman sitting by herself and quickly recollected the first and only conversation he had with her to help recall her name. Normally Drake preferred to drink alone, but he felt compelled to approach Justine since she had seemed interesting when he first spoke with her. Casually he walks up alongside the young woman.]

Little late to be at a bar.

[Justine tilted her head when he walked up, almost as if she was sizing him up in a way. A small smile spread across her lips and she shrugged at his comment. ]

I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd try to find something more productive to do.

I guess this is the place to be when one can't sleep.

[He indicated that he was having a similar problem. Drake had expected a quiet evening, but he wouldn't mind company. Assuming she accepted, though the smile seemed to suggest she might.

He gestured to an empty seat beside her.]

Mind if I join you?

I can't think of a better place, can you?

[She shook her head slowly and leaned back in her own chair.]

It'd be my pleasure.

Not here, no. [But back home, yes.] I come here quite a bit, just not usually at this time.

[A small grin spread across his face as he sat down.]

Can I get you anything?

I'm sure we could all think of numerous places back home that would be better than this place. [It wouldn't be hard to think of better places than this.]

How about I let you decide? See if you can guess what I might like.

Leaving it up to me, huh? That's a little tough considering how little I know about you.

[Now it was Drake's turn to size her up- not that it would tell him much about the type of drink she favoured, but it would make an almost convincing excuse. Almost. But he didn't need the once-over to know that she's an attractive girl, though his eyes might have lingered on her legs a little longer than he intended.

Smirk still on his face, though a little nervous, Drake gestured to the bartender and put in an order. A short while later the man returned with a beer and a White Russian- he slides the latter over to her.]

Well. Moment of truth.

[When the man returned with the drink she picked it up delicately and swirled it around in her hand. A small, flirtatious, smile spread across her face as she took a sip.]

Not a bad choice at all. [She shifted the position of her legs slightly, showing a bit more skin, and leaned back.] Actually, it's a pretty good choice, I'm impressed.

[That smile was a good sign, right? Right. He returned an equally flirty smile while watching her carefully shift her legs, wondering if that was intentional.]

I'm good for a few things. [he studied her for a second before adding--] So... have something on your mind?

[If she couldn't sleep perhaps there was something she was thinking about.]

[She shrugged slightly and ran her finger around the edge of the glass.]

Nothing specific, just a bit of loneliness I guess.

[Drake frowned at that. Out of all the people he had encountered his first day here, for some reason, she stood out the most. Perhaps because he appreciated her trying to humour him.

He took a swig of beer and stared at the bottle for a moment before looking at her again.]

I find it hard to believe that a nice girl like you doesn't have someone around waiting for them.
