Normally Drake preferred to drink alone, but he felt compelled to approach Justine since she had seemed interesting when he first spoke with her. Casually he walks up alongside the young woman.]
Little late to be at a bar.

I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd try to find something more productive to do.

[He indicated that he was having a similar problem. Drake had expected a quiet evening, but he wouldn't mind company. Assuming she accepted, though the smile seemed to suggest she might.
He gestured to an empty seat beside her.]
Mind if I join you?

[She shook her head slowly and leaned back in her own chair.]
It'd be my pleasure.

[A small grin spread across his face as he sat down.]

[Now it was Drake's turn to size her up- not that it would tell him much about the type of drink she favoured, but it would make an almost convincing excuse. Almost. I'm good for a few things. [he studied her for a second before adding--] So... have something on your mind?
[If she couldn't sleep perhaps there was something she was thinking about.]

Nothing specific, just a bit of loneliness I guess.

He took a swig of beer and stared at the bottle for a moment before looking at her again.]
I find it hard to believe that a nice girl like you doesn't have someone around waiting for them.
