Something is just... off about all of this. But he's not sure what. When Erik is closer perhaps he'll-- no, no he shouldn't look into his mind. He'll find out the proper way. By asking.
Part of him was afraid to see the other mutant again, after how they last seen one another. Even talking to him on that thing had been difficult. But he could just leave Erik alone here. They had parted, but Erik was still his friend, as naive as he might be for thinking it still.
Finally he arrives at the entrance, almost fearing Erik might beat him there. Which he may have.
