Ah yes, it had been too much time since he last checked on the traps left behind to protect the children of the Underworld. Hm. Why had he not checked on them sooner? No matter. Zevran had left his friend asleep in bed in order to make this late night excursion, putting on his darkest leather armor and navigating through the traps he had set up around the SEES members home. It had not been enough to stop Mitsuru from being taken but he refused to feel guilty. Guilt took up too much time and effort. No, instead he spent his time silently changing the traps, adding in new ones, and occasionally checking in each room to memorize the features of the newer arrivals. Hm, it had been a while since his last visit.
Once the traps were finished Zevran allowed himself a moment's rest, laying back on the couch and watching the doorways. There was a creaking and it was only the forced relaxation of his muscles which stopped him from attack. It had to be one of the children.
"Isn't it a little late for a midnight snack, my friend?"
