The Roadhouse was closed to casual business. The doors were still open, but no food was being served, no drinks poured. Hunters milled about, pacing agitatedly while they conferred and tried to pinpoint where their stolen friends and loved ones had been taken. A consensus was being reached as each broken and garbled transmission trickled in from one of the victims. They had been taken to the Carnival at the heart of the Labyrinth.
Foregoing her usual spot behind the bar, Ellen moved between the tight clusters of the quickly forming search parties, dispensing weapons or first aid kits as needed. They had taken Bobby and Gabriel. They would not be left there to suffer.
She glanced towards the door. The moment they all arrived, they’d head out. It didn’t matter if they had to tear the entire Underworld apart. They were going to find their lost ones and bring them home alive.
