(no subject)
I am in one of those feeling down, but for no reason at all, moods. Whenever I get in those type of moods I generally drive around and listen to music (In tonight's case, Tool and A Perfect Circle). I drove all over Aiken tonight and I think I might do it again soon.
Horse of a different colour:
Megan and I went to donate whole blood today but it turns out that The Red Cross doesn't accept whole blood on Mondays and some other day. Since we couldn't give whole blood Megan wanted to give platelets and asked if I wanted to do so as well. I have never given platelets before and the thought of a needle in each arm for two hours was not appealing, so I backed down. Instead I told her that I would stay with her for the two hours so that she can give platelets. While the employees asked her the normal questions in the back, I decided that I would give it a try. The Red Cross employees were really happy that both of us decided to give platelets. Unfortunately I wasn't able to give platelets because I had been in the emergency room within the year for the treatment of the dog bite, so I was ultimately rejected. I won't be able to give whole blood or platelets until May of next year. Megan was awesome during the entire thing. Neither of us could watch the needles going in her. They stuck one needle in her left wrist but it really bothered her so they took it out and put it in her arm. For the two hours we talked and sorta watched O Brother Where Art Thou? on the mini screen hanging over each seat. All in all it was a good experience.
