I am so annoyed right now.
so pretty much, this is what's been going on in the past couple of days:
So I've been staying at Matthew's house pretty much 99% of the time, so on the 2nd my roommates came by his apartment to come pick up the rent money from me because it was close by to their work. I am hardly ever at my apartment for many reasons.
- reason 1: the landlord doesn't know I live there, despite the fact that I have asked my roommates to notify him that I live there, but due to the fact that he will raise the rent price they always just told me "don't worry about it" or "it will be fine". It made me extremely uncomfortable to be there if I was by myself knowing that if the landlord ever stopped in he would see me living there, which I guess is what I wanted anyway but I didn't want my roommates to get upset with me.
- reason 2: ever since I moved my belongings into the apartment, my two roommates have let people live there for weeks on end for FREE, using up electricity that I would have to pay for. Not to mention the people that they let live there were always boys that I had never met before whom carry brass knuckles and knives on them. One of them also decided to help themselves to my food.
- reason 3: no cable or internet. Mainly due to the lack of credit that my roommates and I have.
- reason 4: they have two large dogs, who shed and drool and broke my kitchen table.
- reason 5: since I've lived there I've always had problems with my belongings "mysteriously" missing. My roommates always claimed that no one had been in the apartment besides them, so that I must just have misplaced what I lost.
about two weeks ago I went back to my apartment to grab my computer, because I didn't feel comfortable leaving it there, since I am never around to make sure that no one was using it, or steal it even. I was bored one day and decided to look through my files, when I found an imovie video. My computer crashed about 2 months ago so everything was erased, I didnt have any videos on there so I looked and it was one of my roommates playing guitar. Which means that she went into MY bedroom, took MY computer, used it, obviously forgot to delete the video, and returned it back to MY room. I asked her why she used my computer and she told me that she tried IMing me to ask me and that she didn't think I would mind. ARE YOU CRAZY, that is a 1,500 dollar laptop. Why on earth would she get the impression that it would be okay that she could just waltz into my bedroom and use it. RIDICULOUS.
Anyway, despite all the problems I was desperate for an apartment. I had and have been trying to find a different/better place since I moved in but unfortunately with no luck.
I went back to my apartment on the night of the 2nd, the day they picked up the rent from me. I wanted to get my camera battery charger so that I could take some photos since my camera is dead. When I walked into my room I was completely in shock. My whole wall of polaroid pictures(shown below) had been taken down, and all 84 pictures were no where to be found. Not only is the material value upwards of $120.00, but the fact that all those photos were completely missing made me heartbroken. Another shock was the fact that the pillows on my bed had been arranged in a way that I had not left them, they looked like someone had propped them up so that they could either sleep or lay on MY bed. My camera charger was also nowhere to be found.
I sent my roommate a text message immediately saying "we have a problem". She asked me what was going on and I asked her why my room was the way it was. She told me that she had no idea and that no one ever goes in my room and that no one had been there, she told me that when she went to go put my computer back (FROM USING IT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION) she noticed that they were not there, and she thought that I had taken them down. I explained to her that I didn't touch them, she continued to tell me that no one had been in my room. When I told her that she was obviously incorrect and that someone had so OBVIOUSLY been in my room and taken the pictures and put my pillows the way they were and took my camera charger, she started to get very defensive and stated that "I don't appreciate you calling me a liar". I asked her how on earth she couldn't understand that someone had been in my room, she just continued to be defensive and telling me that no one has been in there. After how annoyed I was with the fact that she is an idiot, I told her that I was moving out the next day and that I wanted my rent money back for this month. She told me "that's too bad, I already paid it". I responded by telling her that I wasn't going to pay for a month of rent that I'm not going to live there. She told me that she was going to take my rent money for the fact that I didn't give her a 30 day notice to moving out. SHE IS NOT MY LANDLORD, we never had any agreement that I would give her a 30 day notice. I told her that I was going to get my money back and she told me that I had no proof that I ever paid her anything. Anyway, we continued to argue until she threatened to change the locks on me. At that point I made sure that I was going to file a police report against her, not only for my missing things but for everything she was trying to say to me. Matthew and I went to the police department the next day and I didn't even ask the police officer to come with us to go and get my things, but apparently he thought that the living situation that I was in was dangerous, so he escorted us to my apartment and stayed there while I moved out everything I could fit in mine and Matthew's truck. Unfortunately I had to leave my bed, an arm chair, a dresser, and my kitchen table (which is still broken). When I left the apartment my roommate had the nerve to text me and tell me that I took one of her coffee mugs. Which I most certainly didn't, not to mention one of mine was missing so I could really care less. She told me that I could bring it back to her when I get the rest of my things and drop off the key. I responded by telling her that I wasn't giving her my key back until the end of january unless she gave me my rent money back. She started getting defensive yet again and told me I had no legal right to bring the cops there and that she was going to tell them I was a drug dealer If I ever brought them back again because they threatened to take one of her dogs away. Yeah, clearly I am a drug dealer. Anyway, she told me that she was going to change the locks and that I could not come back and get the rest of my things until she got the key back, she told me that I could go ahead and bring the cops back to the apartment. She is convinced that they won't let me in because she says that I have no proof that I lived there. Yeah, except the cop that escorted me to the apartment, which I had a key to, and a room with all of my things in there, and the fact that my other roommate confirmed I lived there to the cop. Yeah, just shows how ignorant this girl is.
I have yet to try and contact my roommate or the police because I just haven't had the energy. I want my rent money back, I want to be compensated for the fact that my pictures and charger are missing, I want to do so much to make her life miserable.
she obviously thinks that I am an idiot and she SO OBVIOUSLY doesn't know my family.
this is just the beginning. I am so frustrated with the ignorance of people and I just had to vent.
