There have been a lot of new arrivals this week. That seems a bit unusual for the City; two weeks in a row.

Who knows, maybe it means something interesting might happen soon.

Miss Lyra, I'm hoping you're wrong.

True. Since it's likely to be more of a "invaded by aliens" or just an exceptionally long and nasty curse. Or maybe just the city deities getting more active. Which is worse? But it does seem sort of suspicious.

I don't suspect we'll be invaded by aliens again quite so soon.

You're probably right. Although the other two en't exactly reassuring... Well, we'll see. And curses lately have been pretty moderate, actually...

But most of the new arrivals seem all right. Some of 'em are a little odd though. Like that one man who thought I was a famous detective.

I'm assuming, then, you're not.

Nope! And he wasn't even from my world- it was a little intimidating at first. Thankfully, we came to an understanding though.

[ooc; They didn't. XD]

What was his name, Miss Lyra?

Neuro. I did manage to hire him for Seventh Heaven though, so I could keep an eye on him.

Admittedly admirable, Miss Lyra.

Speaking of your bar, who's doing your accounting?

Thank you. He is a bit of an interesting character though... And someone needs to watch him, so he doesn't get himself killed.

Actually, I've been mostly doing it myself- the math's easier than the stuff I learned in school, and computers help speed it up. Besides, I can always ask some of the other employees for help if I can't do it myself. Why d'you ask?

Is that highly likely?

Simple curiosity.

He's not used to this kind of world, I think. But since his last boss was only a few years older than me, he doesn't mind working for me.

Well I wish you the best, then.

The same for you. I just hope nothing really ominous is about to happen.

I hope so too.
