Maybe he has a point.

If those in the city would be so kind as to consider answering a somewhat personal question: how many of you happen to be categorized as lying cheating unfaithful bastards individuals? For some absolutely inexplicable reason, my communicator was on the receiving end of a lot of high voltage and it's been a little difficult ever since. I'm not much of a gadget guy, but it's a bad thing when there are sparks, right?

Being thrown into a new context can force people to re-evaluate past actions, especially if they felt guilty or hadn't had time to second-guess themselves while in the moment. I'm not surprised some would confess.
