[It isn't where she thought the key would lead, but things wouldn't be nearly as exciting if she could predict what would happen. Trish tries to imagine how far beneath the surface they've fallen at this point. Without a portal back up, it could turn into an interesting problem.

She paces around the side of the cave and takes in her new surroundings. The ice crystals have a nice shine to them, although they don't seem entirely natural. And she has more company. She spots several others who had not been with them before the fall.

Trish pauses and crosses her arms near the one end of the cavern. If another guardian is to greet them, she hopes that it's one that can make a proper introduction.]

[hiyori lands sprawled upside down and awkward against the base of one of the icy stalagmites jutting up all around them, her face pressed awkwardly against the cold ground.

[when she hurls herself back to her feet that side of her face is slightly redder than the rest of her skin, either from the cold or from the friction of her landing, it's hard to tell.

[she huffs sharply a few times, then hops up on the crystal she crashed against and perches atop it, eyes narrowing as she takes in the situation and the people that have fallen around the area.]

--just fuckin' great.

[ Hibari has just been walking forward for the key when the ground suddenly fell from under him. He moves instinctively, body shifting into a fighting stance, knees bent and toes pointing down, tonfas drawn up in his hand. And his tonfas are suddenly flaring out in bright violet flames as he tries to see around him even as he falls. But there's nothing except an encompassing darkness, swallowing even those other who were around him in the pillar. He can't evven see himself properly.

He grits his teeth, about to lash outwards in hopes of hitting something out there when the scenery suddenly turns blindingly bright. Hibari lands on the ice with the balls of his feet, slamming a tonfa downwards against the ice and stabilising himself.

Pressing his lips together in a thin, thin line, Hibari unfolds himself from the crouching position, looking around him. More people; more crowdingThe grip on his tonfas tighten until his knuckles are white. Then his eyes fall to the ground, a foot tracing the spot where he had smacked the tonfa against ( ... )

[Zack slides on his back across the ice, although before he stops he's rolled over into a crouch, giving a cautious and then somewhat curious look around. He's seen a place similar to this before back home, but he admits it wasn't what he was expecting to land in when the ground had shattered beneath them after the trial had been completed.

It's only when he relaxes a little once he's taken a small look around that the pain of the fall settles in and he flinches slightly, giving a small grunt of discomfort. Okay, well, on the bright side they weren't dead.

On the not so bright side, this didn't look like a very promising place to be in terms of getting out, either. Considering they'd entered a place through a church, and fallen from that place to end up here, the possibility of where they really are now is endless.]

Is everyone okay?

[Regardless of circumstance, Zack is aware of the others and their well-being is as much of a priority as anything else.]

[ and a slight distance away, Nagi sits up with a dry cough, wondering just what the hell happened -- though, first and foremost, he's relieved that the fall didn't just kill them all. it's only then that he realizes that his breath is fogging up in puffs of air -- and he looks around at the cavern they're in, scrutinizing the jagged spikes of ice and the inky darkness ]

-- a cavern?

[ getting back to his feet, he looks around and sees both the people who were up on the platform (of course, he immediately shies away from the woman, not at all comfortable with being in the same place as her) -- but also a few others. ]

It seems like nobody's been injured by the fall.

[ it's a quiet mutter, as he's more absorbed in studying his surroundings and thinking, what's the answer to this puzzle now? ]

[Haku, tired of waiting around and doing nothing, decided to get involved.

And found himself in this ice cave, Certainly not a change in direction the ice manipulator minded at all. He pushed himself up to his feet, laying a hand on one of the smooth planes of ice. She biting cold was reassuring under his finger tips. Looking up at the talking, he moves forward, toward the loosely gathered group.]

What now?

[Perhaps a long time ago, Caim could have understood these people. Perhaps, even now, he understands them, somewhere underneath his demons and hallucinations.

For someone who has had a good amount of control in their stay here, he's not very different from them at all when he finally steps for the shadows, eyeing them with a studious gaze. Yes, he's sure he knows some of these people, perhaps even met them, although his mind has splintered into too many fragments from the poison to really comprehend. The only thing he does know and that is solid is that he does not approve of their meddling-he hasn't since that witch suggested they do so and he certainly hasn't since he found out Dai was assisting them. What spontaneous creatures, really, to run off and touch things without full facts ( ... )

[ if Caim is staring at them, then there's at least one person staring back just as hard, eyes narrowed and mouth a hard slant. Namae's lost his cigarette somewhere between the platform shattering and hitting the ground, and he looks appropriately irritable.

and really, all he can do is laugh, when the Magister makes his oh so dramatic appearance, all quiet words and melodramatic connotations and faggoty-ass fake-composure that Namae really can't stand. the moment that the Magister's done talking, he slams the tip of his lead pipe into the ground, feeling it rebound off the ice. ]

So, what, [ it's challenging, more than anything, the way he snarls, accompanied by an unflinching stare and a lazy half-smirk. ] I'm guessing you're going to tell us to run on a new wild goose chase? Or just cut the crap and fuck us all over. S'it fun, to play the poor hurt ruler who just has to be so cruel to his citizens?

[ it's an aimless, rambling series of words spat out, edged with venom -- because fuck if this isn't a load of bullshit. Namae ( ... )

[Unlike Namae, Roxas is silent, but he's staring just as frosted towards the magister.

The difference is, Roxas doesn't see taunting the other as a way to go about things. He doesn't even really see the situation the same way Namae presents it vocally. He doesn't know any of the magisters or of their power and ideas of control, and he isn't one to judge anyone emotionally when he himself has no capability of feeling, but he does feel he has the ability to assess something unbiased. And his unbiased judgment is that while this is a situation that will not bode well for them, this man is also not well. Perhaps not himself, or perhaps this is all he really is deep down inside, but either way, he is not well.

So from his position near Namae, he wants to growl something out at the other to shut up before he starts a brawl, but Roxas at least understands that if he does that, he'll only be making it worst. Instead, he says nothing-waiting and watching for something to happen that he feels he can properly react to-but that doesn't stop ( ... )

You don't sound awfully well, Magister. Is something the matter?

[Stepping out from the shadows at the other end of the cavern, Dai's looking very much the same as ever - fresh-faced and rested, smiling and relaxed - a fair contrast to Caim's more battered, sickly appearance. Dai has everything to be pleased about, after all. Watching them thus far has been an awful lot of fun, and well - with Caim breaking down from the poison, he can hardly afford to miss out.

His eyes graze from the Magister across to those who remain, and his arms fold smoothly. Oh, this is a nice group, too. Plenty of the colourful ones.]

Unfortunately, he's never been particularly adept with explaining his reasons. You'll be entirely fortunate if he tells you what you need to do at all.

... It's rather beautiful here, though, isn't it? Of course, the cold doesn't agree with me, but I suppose that's the price you pay. Cold things have their majesty, but they also have sharp edges that don't agree with touching.

[It seems that their intimate group has grown quite a bit. There are a few gathered that hold her interest, namely the one trying so hard to stay away from her, but also the muscular man with the black hair that she recognizes from before they had entered the trials. However, when greeted by another familiar voice her attention quickly shifts. This is turning into quite a worthwhile trip.

Just as she prepares to let the others test his patience, the Inquisitor makes his presence known. Even better.]

I was hoping we might see you again.

[Trish watches the man with the silver hair, but does not address him directly. Instead she heeds the Inquisitor's word, her voice having an amused tone as she assesses the situation.]

And what would he like us to do?

[hiyori's eyes narrow at the arrival of the two natives, and she doesn't hide her displeasure much. she rolls her eyes and hops off the crystal she'd perched herself on to go stroll a few steps in ... dai's direction, why. she slouches there glaring at both of them, expecting them to perform stupid pet tricks for her and being epically disappointed that all they're doing is being insufferable and fruity instead. not that she's surprised -- but it would've made the tedium less tedious.]

Yeah, yeah, so glad to know you're both still alive -- get to the fuckin' point, already.

What do we gotta do to stabilize this place so it's not two seconds from collapsing in on top of us, huh?

[ Nagi starts, both when the Magister appears, then when the Inquisitor makes an appearance as well, because this is a sudden turn of events that doesn't necessarily bode well. pale eyes flickering from one native to the other, he tries to understand the situation -- and perhaps his body realizes the tension of the situation more than his mind, because flickers of blood are already coiling up from his hand, curling into spheres in the air.

he doesn't speak, though, only stands at ready -- because, after all, the others have already said anything that would yield answers, and all he can do is wait for orders.

that's all that matters, right?

though his worried gaze does linger over Caim for a long moment and he mulls over the conversation between the two natives. the fact that the two of them were at odds is nothing new, but what's important here, perhaps, is the issue of which one they can trust. and this question, he can't seem to fathom the answer to. ]

How thoughtful of you, Supernus.

[If Dai is right about anything, he is right about Caim. He has his reasons, but no intention to give them. He does not sympathize with their crisis against his own personal goals, and they too, should and would not care for why he's doing what's he doing. Besides, even Caim can admit it's not a very glorious or noble explanation. There is no honour in what he's doing. In fact, it's selfish, and much like that concept of thought that he backed away from all those years ago when presented by the one staring at him from the other end of the cavern.

And, yet, now?

It doesn't matter. Perhaps it never did, perhaps he feels he owes her, or perhaps it's simply because of who she is, even if he knows she'd most likely hate him for this if she ever found out. Deep down, he's not sure if it's fear of feeling that guilt all over again that drives his madness. But, this, this is in intriguing to him and enraging at the same time. He should have expected this. Had he expected this? Dai assisting them... of ( ... )

[hiyori doesn't grin. she just takes another step forward and puts her hands on her hips, then another, until she's standing right in front of caim; and it's really kind of funny, that someone as small and weak as she is in comparison to him can stare up at him with such total lack of fear or hesitation. it's probably not quite as funny -- in fact, it's kind of terrifying -- that she can then reach up and POKE him, square in the gut, twice, frowning up at his face all the while.]

--I didn't come here to lose. Losing's even lamer than sitting around on my ass and waitin' for it all to be over.

So I say you're fulla shit. What do you say to that, Magister?

[she sneers a little, and flicks her gaze over to dai.]

... what's the Inquisitor say to that?

[ Hibari, as per his wont, has been silent for a long time, standing in the corner away from the crowd, simply listening. The Inquisitor's entrance doesn't much surprise him - he honestly has doubted that the man will leave them completely alone - and he listens to an even sharper ear to what the Magisters were saying.

Again, there is something for them to do. Requests upon requests; the lady, the inquisitor, and now even the Ice Magister. The natives are said to have power over this world; that these worlds' rules are theirs, yet they seem to be so powerless that they need someone else - need them - to carry out their orders. Helpless generals, they seem to be, carrying out a war or vendetta against each other ( ... )
